What a great night!!! Love cannon was fun, I saw more people dancing this year han any other year. All of the beer was great. My faves were the flanders from haw river, monstro, the ba from 3 brothers and the sleepers of the night were the new belgium sour and the pecan cider frim windy hill. Can't wait till next year!!! Now if I can only figure out how to get the heartbeat out of my head.......

    Awesome time.

Good job organizing Mike and Shane and thanks to everyone who helped set it up.

As I told some people that night, I think Virginia stole the show in a Carolinas (primarily) beer event. All 3 Virginia beers were excellent.

    Other highlights for me:
Darius the Giant from Haw River
    Love's Leopold from New Belgium
    Monstro from NoDa
    Grapefruit IIPA from Burial -
and that Cinnamon Pecan Cider was really good

Oh and Jackie O's Hum was awesome, thanks JR

Good luck topping this event next year, Mike and Shane...I'm pretty confident you will though

Oh man, this was a great event! I don't know about the rest of you, but Sunday was pretty miserable - I blame the Hardywood GBS, I was hitting that pretty hard at closing time. Great music, great beer, great folks - the only thing that could've been better, would be a few more water/rinse stations around. With so many people it was hard to navigate to the corners of the bar.

Favorites from my perspective (my apologies to beers I tried later in the night - they probably didn't get a fair shake):

    • NoDa Monstro - I made a beeline here with pretty much everyone else in attendance. Love me some Hopcakes too.
    • Haw River Darius - Such a strong showing with this sour - love the Teku as well!
    • New Belgium Love's Leopold
    • Quest BA Kaldi
    • Natty Greene American Sour - Had this at Release the Funk last year and it showed strongly there as well.
    • Fonta Flora Baba Budan
    • Love Cannon
GBS is banned from my favorites list solely due to the hangover...

I hate all of you who got to Monstro and killed it immediately.
