    Hey Indiana BA's!

I am going to indianopolis this weekend. I am looking for some suggestions on great local indiana craft beers that are easy to get and your local favorites / under the radar beers that are found in indiana. Also what are some great bottle shops to find some of these beers at? I dont know much about indiana craft beer. Only 3F and Upland are two indiana breweries that I have drank some of their brews.

    Thanks for any input! Cheers,
    brian

Pick up some Triton Railsplitter IPA. It's one of my favorites in the city. Sun King also cans three in their standard line up (Sunlight Cream Ale, Osiris Pale, Wee Mac wee heavy).

My best advice is to look for/pick up stuff by New Albanian. It'll all be in bombers. Some of my favorite stuff from the state. You shouldn't have any trouble finding it.

Edit: Oh, and go to Kahn's on Keystone, Crown downtown, or Payless at I69 and 96th St.

Hit Flat 12. Its about 5 minutes from the center of downtown, have a great regular line-up, specifically the porter, milk stout, and half cycle IPA, as well as typically having some good special items on as well. They do growlers / 1/2 growlers of just about everything and you can have pints on premises.

Also, Twenty Tap on College Ave in Broad Ripple has solid food and a great tap selection (there are actually 31 taps, all craft).

For local beers to take home, Flat 12 growlers, Sun King cans of Osiris or Wee Mac, or growlers, whatever FFF's you can get your hands on. Previous post mentions grabbing some New Albanian, they do make some good stuff, though for the quality it is a little overpriced (i.e. $18 for a bomber of their imp stout, def not worth it).

If you're in town on Sunday, Flat 12 is having a Black Sunday party, with a lot of dark beers on tap. (GREAT stuff here.)

And FWIW, I've never had New Albanian Thunderfoot (their stout). You'll be looking at $8-12 for their other bombers.

I liked the few beers I tried from Flat 12. While out downtown I tried some more local beers. Gotta say, I didn't have anything disappointing from Triton Brewing.

-Upland Tasting room on 52nd street, there may be some interesting sours left over from this weekends event... Maybe. (Not Sour Reserve)

    - Kahns on Keystone: Ask for Al. (aasher)

    - Crown Downtown: This store is full of beer-smart guys. Anyone with a penis should be able to point you in the right direction.

    - "Parti Pak" on the south-side is hit or miss. They will often have rare beers, or vintage items if you enjoy digging through a somewhat disorganized shelf or two. (I actually like digging if I have plenty of time.) The last time I checked, they didn't put prices on most of the bottles. When I take the bottles to the counter and ask the Mom for a price check, one of two things always happens: she is overly excited and super happy, or she sigh's loudly and acts like you're ruining her Vicodin buzz. It's worth the drive.
