really want to try this beer, but they're still pushing their black ops anachronistic prices. sorry guys, you're not the only barrel aged stout/wild on the market, you don't get to charge $30.

if you can give me world class brooklyn black chocolate for $9/4pk in fucking manhattan, don't try to charge me $30 for your experimental version of a beer that masters make better and sell across the country/world for cheaper. no no no no.

I posted a thread else where, but in seaching found this thread.

I got a bottle of it in GA, and I'm trying to find out if I should hold it for a while, or drink it now? They were limiting it to one bottle I believe, and had it in back as it was new. Paid $9.99 for it.

$9.99? That's a steal. I'd resell it to someone for $15 (the going rate seems to be ~$20). I thought it was a real mess of a beer.

the reviews that i've read seem to say the barrel/oak is very strong, and clashes with the bretty beer underneath. i believe them about what they're tasting, but personally they're description sounds like something i would like. i like my wild ales to be very oaky (see cascade for example).

Yeah. I just got this oaky/artificial vanilla flavor from start to finish. And it was quite a struggle for me to taste any kind of brett presence at all. And not even remotely sour. I was really pretty disappointed - especially at the price.
