High expectations, but a very big disappointment?

Sorry I have a differing opinion/palate. I'll never do that ever again. Actually, I will. The Abyss was nothing more than mediocre.

Sculpin, green flash west coast ipa, and Unibroue's Quelque Chose (never had an basically uncarbonated beer previous to this or since)

I'm going to have to add another one to my list...Pliny the Younger. Had this last night and was very underwhelmed. I really don't see what all the fuss is about.

    Dark Lord, Hunahpu's, Black Tuesday.

Kind of funny actually given their standing within the craft beer community.

Surly Furious and bender. So much hype with this brewery. I found both good, but not outstanding. I think it's limited distribution inflates the reputation.

Southern Tier 2XIPA is no where near being dubbed the East Coast Pliny as some have claimed.

I had a La Roja which had no carbonation whatsoever; that was kinda bad.

Autumnation was a tragic excuse for a pumpkin beer.

Fresh Bruery Oude Tart = vinegared cherry leather.

The way people talked about Rochefort 10 really confused me upon my first sip. Not a repeat buy for me like the other, cheaper similar examples.

I would not list CBS here though... while it was certainly not the beer I expected it to be, it was not a very big disapointment either. The same goes for Sculpin... Number 1 IPA? Not even close... but it's not a huge disappointment.

Hopslam. I liked it, but it didn't wow me like was hoping it would. Too boozy for a dipa in my opinion. Bruery Saison Rue tasted like a bloody band-aid. And all of Southern Tier's Blackwater series were way too sweet for my tasebuds.

Dark Lord, Hunahpu, and Darkness were very disapointing

Struise/Three Floyds Shark Pants. It smelled like nail polish remover and burnt plastic to me. In a DIPA? No, thanks!

I know that most people are not going to agree with me, but I think Parabola was a big disappointment. It tasted a lot like Nectar Ale's Black Xantus.

Westvleteren 8. I thought it was ok but I had really high hopes for any of the Westvleteren beers. This was more boozy than good.

Bell's Hopslam for me. Thought it was really good, but by no means as good as the hype I was hearing.

From what I hear you are supposed to make sure you don't pour the sediment into the glass and its much better with some age.

I assume you know that they are both brewed by Firestone Walker?

I'd have to give the honor to Hellshire I (omiting Hellshire II because of the infection). Hellshire I was pretty hyped as the next Wooden Hell....Nope not even close.

3F Schaerbeekse Kriek. Especially for its price and the "rare" cherries, I was surprised it wasn't as substantial as I thought it was going to be.

I think every ale I've tried from Victory has been a slight disappointment (Golden Monkey, Storm King, Headwaters, HopDevil to a lesser extent.) I've liked both lagers I've tried, though. I tried DFH Raison D'Etre and had to immediately lower my expectations for what they can do, because it was a mess. It's made me avoid all their crazier (oops, I mean "off-centered[TM]") stuff.
