Bummed my local store no longer has any in stock. :slight_frown:

Will be trying to Resin next, but wondering if it still has that nice sweetness hi-res had.

Shared my first 4-pack with a bunch of beer geeks last weekend - they all loved it. None of them were close on guessing the C2H5OH content either. Tasty beer.

your right on it , I think it should be ranked a little higher cause it blows regular resin away with flavor, balance, and resinous hoppiness. Try a growler of it unbelievable!

Check your inbox fedex and your right that hi res is in my top 5 unbelievable. Try a growler of it if you can. My son bought us a big 64 oz one 2 weeks ago . It wa gone in 2 days. It blows regular resin away.

Got a lot of medium ripe peach and apricot out of this one. Happily for me a smooth bitterness and dangerously drinkable for 11.1%. Great job Sixpoint, please come back to Michigan.

I had this last night. WOW. I also got stone fruit (peach, apricot). Mango and tropical fruit. Some citrus. Sweet malt that cut the harshness out of any bitterness, where's the 111 IBU? My only complaint is the alcohol heat comes out as the beer warms. It's an amazing beer, definitely up there for me!

Sorry dudes, no plan to make this one a year round right now. Look for it in January 2015. That being said, our main goal right now is to make this beer BETTER. This was the first year for us, and it was a very heavy haul from an ingredient/process/fermentation standpoint. It has a lot of nuance to it....we want to make this one of the elite beers so please let us know how the 2015 stacks up! We're going to put a lot of work into it in the meantime...

The Resin and Hi-Res are really two different beers altogether, even if they are in the same "extended family." Hi-Res goes for the hop "juice" and hop "essence" whereas Resin goes for the hop bittering power. One of the most important things for us, regardless of how they are related, is that you are not overwhelmed by the 11.1% ABV. To say you should not taste it at all would be too much of a stretch - it clearly has as much alcohol as a table wine at that point. When done well, the alcohol can actually integrate itself into the flavor profile.

    Well, saison yeast. Obviously.

This exact characteristic is something I look for in any IPA-spectrum beer that heads north of, say, 9% ABV.

I had some for the first time the other nice. Damn fine DIPA.. I really enjoyed it. Got 3 more, and now I'm sad that I might not find but a couple more 4 packs soon to drink.

Keep up the good work with it. Maybe make it a seasonal, TWICE a year.

Is your local store out of both Resin and the Hi-Res? Which place are we talking about? We can send one of our reps on the area. :-)

    cheers

Had this for the second time last night with dinner...was once again fantastic. Had my dinner guest try it who isn't a "hop head" or "beer snob" by any means and he even loved it and ordered one. If that's not a testimony, I don't know what is. Best by date was late July...was still a total nose and mouthful.

Sixpoint, so impressed by this beer. Every single person I have shared my stash with is insanely in love with the stuff. I have a friend who is not even a real hop-head, and when he tried it, he was blown away. I will be sad to drink my last ones, but I will look forward to it again in 2015.

Glad the beer is holding up well. Naturally, given the ABV this beer won't go "bad" any time soon but the hop flavor and aroma is already more diminished vs. the first couple of weeks after canning...

All very encouraging! That said, we look forward to making it even better in 2015...would be great to get your opinion on it when its FRESH! cheers
