Look dude. You don't have to defend your trading practices to me. I don't typically have a problem with trading. I do, however, have a problem with hoarding with the intention of trading. Whether that be someone buying cases of BCBS or KBS or 8 growlers of TH stuff. I see no difference. Beer is not currency.

I'm not even directing this towards you. Nothing is intended to be accusatory. I was just responding to things you said. You don't need to buy me a beer to prove that you're a nice guy. Frankly, I don't particularly care if you are or not haha. All I meant to say is that it's easy to say "Hey! Look at me! I'm doing all these people such big favors by sending them beer!" But in reality, it's you sending someone beer, and them sending you beer back. And when this brewery that we all love can not make enough beer for so many people to do that, I support them when they say "OK. We don't have the capacity to make enough beer for people in California. We're having growler limits now."

Mythaeus is a great guy. I was curious about CultonHop and CultonSour from Tired Hands; the projects sounded very intriguing. Mythaeus responded to my request and just asked for some shelf Three Floyds bombers. No big deal. My local beer stores ran out of Zombie Dust and the others he really wanted, so we called it. Low and behold, 4 growlers are shipped my way. FedEx realizes the contents and returns the box. Mythaeus reships. A really nice guy. I will not forget the generosity anytime soon.

So I hear this is a thread about whether @mythaeus is a good guy or not. I thought we were talking about whether or not Tired Hands is in the right for limiting growlers - or essentially, limiting trading of their beers.

You questioned my intention for trading and that all I do is hoard TH growlers as currency for trades. I feel the need to explain and provide proofs that that's not the case. I didn't offer to buy you a beer to prove to you that I'm a nice guy, I offered to grab a drink and have a friendly conversation and then you can judge my intention. You clear have a different opinion of advocacy and why people trade and all you have done is projected why YOU trade. I don't see a reason to go on with this any further as all you can do is keep on being single-minded.

You are the one that thread jacked it and made it about trading. Not sure where your anger came from initially.

Of course they are in the right by limiting growlers. It is their business to do as they please.

are you aware that every single post you make - and I've been on BA a LONG time - you come across as a giant dbag? not saying you are, but maybe think about how you speak to other people. that was some free advice for you

I tried to edit my original post to incude the fact that I don't disapprove of their limiting growlers, especially with regard to their business, their policy. I just think the change is rather drastic and sudden so it just didn't add up for me. I was simply disappointed when all things are considered and detailed the reason as best as I could.

I threadjacked nothing. It's obvious that they're limiting growlers bc they can't keep up with trading. It's the same topic. Not to mention the fact that I was responding to someone who was already talking about trading.

Sorry that I'm direct and to the point. I guess that comes off as being a d-bag. I'll definitely think about how I "speak" to other people in the future.

You guys are all so darn cute. Getting all butthurt b/c I'm telling it like it is.

Wow! Such problems. It's beer. Drink it with friends. Send it to someone for free. Send your only growler, and get another for yourself next week. If you don't get it, big deal. Beer advocacy. here is what beer advocacy is, my local finds out I am going to GABF, hands me a bottle of Long Ireland Black Friday 2012 and a mixed sixer of L.I. beers, and says "give this to so and so from so and so brewery, and tell him I said hi". That being said, I wouldn't wait on line for more than 10 minutes for anything. But that's me. The policy leaves room for more people to try the beer. People who will return for it again and again. Not some dude 2000 miles away that will never make his way to the brewery. That's the way it should be. yeeeesh.

Got a question for people that have gotten growler fills there. I have been there yet but plan on visiting sometime this year cause of the good things i've heard. I had a buddy get a growler filled in person and the next day when he got home it was flat. he told me they just poured it right from the tap into the growler and did not use a hose to fill from bottom up. Can anyone verify that's how they fill growlers?

anyone know someone that works there and can clue them in? I'll give them $1 or less hose you can buy at any homebrew store. I'll make sure I bring one with me when I come down.

If your opposed to their new growler policy. You should have visited yesterday. When we first got there they had 7 beers on tap. By the time I left they were down to 5 beers on tap. Limiting growlers of their last few IPA's would have left them plenty of beer for me. Haha.

Seriously though I always have a good time and yesterday was no different. But I understand why they HAVE todo what they are doing.

I do not think they will use a hose you bring in to fill your growler. There is really not much you can say about that, because it is their establishment. I doubt the growler was absolutely flat, but in my experience if you do not drink in 1 or 2 days then you will have a degradation in the carb because their beers are not crazy carbed to begin with.

Hey, I was there yesterday too. I remember they lost one beer because they did not like how it was pouring after it was transferred. I think they do not expect to have a beer kick in an afternoon and if one does, it puts a kink in their pipeline. I am fine with the policy, in fact I do not think I have ever taken home more than one growler of a specific beer at a time anyway.

Growler mules just became the new bottle mules. Still trying to talk their chief fan boy off the ledge following the change in policy. Will post again with status update.

Oh no, what's he going to do? I have a feeling that he's a major culprit in this rule being implemented.
