So now the question is if Monks will be less insane being the last place to tap a keg, or if it will be the longest lines as people miss out on the first 4 events. :sunglasses:

Any locals have suggestions/input on these separate events?

Monk's will be no less insane. It's high profile, and location, means it will be every bit as busy. If I had to pick wich may be better options, I'd venture the Sidecare and maybe Memphis Tap. They're both slightly less easy accessed. There is no parking near either for a hundred "beer travelers" cars.

Monk's will probably get a half barrel, which means you will almost certainly get a pour. Whether you want to wait in line and deal with a huge crowd to pay $15 for said pour is up to you. For my time and money, I'd much rather just give money to Alex's Lemonade Stand and go elsewhere.

As for the others, there is really no way to guarantee anything. Sometimes these events are crowded, sometimes not. I would lean towards saying they will be more crowded this year than last, but it's hard to say for sure. But look for places that advertise having a half-barrel - it will likely last a couple of hours, so getting there around tapping time will likely assure you a pour.

'Silent' tapped at TJ's in Paoli today via social media posts on Twitter and FB... lasted maybe two hours before the young Roman had left the building... I work <10 minutes from there and didn't catch the post in time. Ah well...

I went to Bishop's Collar (on a Sunday) for PtY last year arriving 45 minutes early and got a glass, but I think you would have missed it if you arrived at opening. Still a shorter line than some of the ones described here though.

Two hours eh? Wow that's about twice as long as it lasted last year haha.

Has anyone gone to Sidecar before? I'm coming from Pittsburgh to visit some cousins and this is the only tapping event I will be able to attend.

Does anyone know if they are getting a 1/2keg? Did anyone go to the event last year and could maybe shed some light as to if there was a line?

Love Sidecar, small though. Ressurection's right up the street.

Yes TJ's was extremely silent this year. It was tapped as soon as it came off the truck. A lot of people left work for a "short break" just to get a glass. Smaller pours this year meant more people were able to get some and the price was right at $6.25. It lasted just over two hours.

Not sure what size keg, though I'd doubt it's a 1/2. There will definitely be a line. Last year wasn't too bad, waited about 30 minutes. I doubt it will be as smooth this year.

just an fyi on the raffles that Tom will be running on Monday:

    Hi folks -

It's me again. I just finished putting together the Raffles for our Alex's Lemonade Stand fundraiser / Russian River Pliny the Younger release event. Our doors open at 11:30AM.

Tickets are $10 each - CASH ONLY. We will sell 100 tickets for each of the four raffles. We will hold a drawing whenever we reach selling 100 tickets to any of these raffles. All four Raffles have great beers. I know that the Lambics & The Trappiste Raffles will go first, as usual, but don't overlook the gems available to win in The Vintage and The Give Me The Wood Raffles.

100% of the Raffle money will go directly to the charity. Selling all these tickets will raise $4,000 for Alex's Lemonade Stand.

    Seeya Monday morning.

Went there 3 years ago for a 3:00 tapping(of a sixtel). 15 people waiting in line for 30 mins outside. I managed to get 2 PtY. Small downstairs but very worthwhile. With even more PtY keg chasing going on, I can envision a longer line. It won't last long!
