Yep I was coming in to post the same thing...I think we've been fooled again. Hard to believe Founders would announce Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma for April, yet not make any mention of Maryland despite this supposed 100% guarantee from this Monstro character. I am convinced that he is a fraud and I am further convinced that Maryland is cursed yet again this year with Founders coming in. Guess I'll be making another drive to Philly next month for my Founders fix...smh!

Monstro still has 28 days to deliver though on his promise. The exclusion of MD from the press release definitely undermines his credibility. He should know better than to make promises he cannot keep on this forum. I don't think he's a fraud. Self-aggrandizing salesman, maybe.

I promise you MD is still in the works. Your state Is whats holding up the launch, its not us this time.

Everyone (including you) knows Maryland is slow and irrational when it comes to beer distribution, liquor laws, etc. That is even more of a reason to avoid making promises.

While I can't disagree with your observations, can Maryland really be any worse than Arkansas or Oklahoma when it comes to archaic liquors laws and "back-ass" distributors? If Founders can find a way to get their beer distributed in Arkansas, it's a bit difficult for me to believe they can't somehow find a way to get it distributed in Maryland.

Founders to abandon Maryland distribution in favor of concentrating on coming to the North Pole and North Korea by May 2014

You know what, at this point I don't even care anymore. Snooze you loose.
I'll worry about all the delicious beer that's already here.

I'll just continue to make my trips into northern VA for my Founders beers. Just picked up two four packs of FIS this weekend at the Wegmans just outside of Leesburg. :grinning:

This is an email from back in 3/12. Yes, that's how long this "nonsense" has been going on. When I belly up to the bar over at Max's, and can order a glass of FBS, THAT's when I'll believe Founder's is coming to Maryland.

    Hello John –
We do hope to distribute to MD sometime in the future, but unsure of the exact timing. MD is on our radar. Thank you for your continued patience!
    Cheers!

I saw an article a month or so back indicating that with the brewery expansion, we could expect to see Founders beer in Maryland sometime this year (initially in Spring, but last I heard, it sounded as if early summer might be more realistic). Anyway, I was just hoping you might be able to give me an update on when we might be able to expect to see your beer out here.
In the meantime I’ll continue to buy Founder’s beers in DC and Pa., but needless to say, I’m looking forward to the day when I can find your beer here at home in my local beer bar, tavern or restaurant.
    Cheers!

I got the same reply on Twitter. But I don't believe this to be Founders fault. To me it seems to be MD and the relevant governing bodies' fault for dragging their feet. Like what would be a good/likely reason for them to be doing so for so long? It seems that getting to do business in MD is hard and frustrating. Our state just doesn't get it.

Founders is a collective shelf turd in NY due to prices that are not competitive with equal or better quality rivals. Their seasonals are off the chart expensive. Hop it isn't the same for MD

I feel like the fact that they were here before might have helped. Also, they aren't as big as Founders with as large a portfolio. Finally, there wasn't as much 'hype'/excitement for them. I mean only one person (that posted) knew they were coming into MD (they might hold a tighter ship with rumors, or they just have less people asking about their distribution). I feel like Founders didn't make any promises this time, it was more hearsay from others (myself included). I wasn't around for the other time though, where they seemed to have gone further with Max's even publicly announcing a tap takeover.

p.s. This is all just speculation.
