My friend is coming to Florida from Seattle. She will bring me whatever is available in her area. What should I tell her to grab for me?

Ranier and Olympia. They're our two local favorites.

What about distribution wise? Cantillon, Russian river, boneyard, crooked stave, SARA? Also she loves sours.

Cantillon -- Yes, but limited. There is a shipment this week apparently but not all stores are getting anything.
Russian River -- They left WA in late 2012.
    Boneyard -- Yep. Draft only.
    Crooked Stave -- Nope.

Let's see... Nope, Nope, Draft, Nope, Nope. Well, I guess a Loon if you are in the exact right place at the exact right time.
I would suggest Bbomb, Raspy 16, Arctic Devil, Double Mountain Krieks if you are looking for more limited production stuff that is around now.

Looking for anything good I can't get in Florida which I know is a lot. Doesn't have to be all sours just what her favorite is at the moment.

Look at Seek a Brew & compare distribution. We just got a shipment of the three new sours from Almanac & there should be bourbon sour porter still around. Cascade sours are always around. You can have her find some counter fill places for Boneyard stuff. Anchorage Brewing Co is absolutely awesome.

Not sour- Hair of the Dog Adam & Fred, Fremont, Reuben's brews, Crux (especially the two IPA's), the current 10 Barrel seasonal called Project: Failed, Laurelwood workhorse IPA, Elysian Immortal IPA & Dragonstooth stout, GoodLife Descender & Sweet as, Fort George stuff, I'm sure that I'm forgetting plenty.

    Tons to choose from.

Just FYI- SARA is bottling in microscopic amounts. You need to find a Bay Area trade partner for that more than likely. Crooked Stave is being distributed to some limited markets through Twelve Percent, but is mostly cantered on shelves in Denver, NYC & California at this point. Russian River is only California, Oregon, Colorado & Philadelphia. Cantillon shipments here work like anywhere else. A small amount arrives & disappears quickly.

Have your friend hit up Bottleworks, one of the two Chuck's Hop Shops, The Last Drop Bottle Shop, Beer Junction, Full Throttle Bottles, 99 Bottles, Malt & Vine and/or The Beer Authority and ask the owners/staff to help with selections. While they may not know what's available in Seattle but not Florida, they will know what's good.

Black Raven Pour Les is a good Saison. Some Elysian series are always a good bet. Redhook I know works in the New England area but not sure if in FL so they are true Seattle as well. Reubens is a newer one that has some bottles, they are in Ballard and have some good choices too. Ballard in general is a nice cluster of breweries but not all bottle. Fremont Brewing is good option as well.

Just my two cents of who/what is Seattle and has bottles to carry (not sure you can check-in a keg :stuck_out_tongue:). Had a couple FL and Southern tastes at GABF '13 and really liked what they are doing in your area. Enjoy.

Yes, for sure, send her home with three California beers and one from Canada. Way to represent!

A really nice Oregon brewery is Logsdon. I like their Saison Bretta. They have some good sours, too.

not to be a jerk but...
    Nope.
That's all CA stuff, my friend. We don't get much CA love up here, outside of the massively commercial stuff.

Boneyard growlers (RPM or Hop Venom) will be your best bet.
Also, Cascade sours are pretty readily available in our area.

    These!
Fremont anything, for sure. Fremont is one of the best breweries we have. Double Mountain krieks and Cascade stuff (if you're looking for sours).

Those, sans the entry level Elysian/Ft. George... but thats just my .02, different strokes for different folks.

Not to be a jerk but...Only two of those are CA breweries (RR and SARA)...plus we get tons of CA love up here. We don't get these two but we get tons of other stuff --- Firestone Walker, Green Flash, AleSmith, Ballast Point, 21st Amendment, Speakeasy, Almanac, Bear Republic, Port, The Bruery, etc.

Those are pretty massive breweries with massive distro (hence why I said "the more commercial" stuff). We certainly won't see any Alpine, RR, Rare Barrel, Drakes, Beachwood, Noble, etc. or any of the really good stuff from Bruery, Lost Abbey, etc. Yeah, we totally get Lagunitas and Firestone - but so do most other states. Those are usually common shelfers.

Also, while only RR and SARA are CA-based, Crooked Stave distros to CA (not WA), and I've found Cantillons easier in one week of being in S.F. area than I have here in WA (Actually, I've never seen a Cantillon in WA, outside of empty bottles in someone's collection).

Not trying to argue, just clarifying where I was coming from with my statement.

Most places in California don't get the California breweries you are rattling off...
