I am guessing there are two batches out there. One from the Anni party and sent to WI and IA as well as a second batch that came to us. It is being pulled in WI, check here https://twitter.com/StevesJunction . I have had it about a month ago, bought it from the Anni party and enjoyed it. I don't have any left because I did not want to sit on it. I will spend $13 to see if it is fine. Hope it is.

F44 said they are not getting any because all remaining are being recalled due to infection

Damn. Was hoping those that got recalled in Iowa would be replaced with a new shipment. Doesn't sound like that's gonna happen now. :-(

how the F do they infect this each year. they KNOW to watch for it by now. Its been a problem every year...

Isnt anyone at CW getting pissed they're throwing away 100's of thousands of dollars each year this is infected, as well as creating bad press for their brand?

I have 2-4 packs and each has been fine so far, and I want to get more...but seriously CW, get your S together with this beer or stop making it. I love it, but there's no excuse for a beer to be infected multiple years in a row. How about they just double the BBS production? that would make me happy.

That said, Ill track down a couple more 4 packs. Ill just drink them in the next month or so before they taste like licking a battery

CW has stated they will post something on FB as soon as they have more info.

I refused to buy it this year after 2 years in a row of infections. Last year went quick too, maybe a month and it started tasting off... :slight_frown: so damn good too if not infected, maybe if I lived in WI or drove there to pick it up fresher.

At least they stepped up to the plate and admitted it. Kudos for that.

Major bummer. I'm going to drink my last two this weekend and hope they can figure out what is going on, so they can continue to offer this beer in the future.

Im assuming they dump the beer... But does anyone really know what they do with the beer? Not sure of the legality or recall process but , Why not discount the beer and put a disclaimer out explaining the circumstances. That's seems like a good way to recover some losses. I know I'd buy a 4pk and be sure to drink it quickly.

Took a while, but they sent me a check last year.
I just bought one 4 pk at the CW16 release this year. Didn't want to deal with that again.
Too bad, because it's so damn good - when it's on.

In the blog they say " We would rather not make it than make a compromised version of something we love, such as pasteurized or sterile filtered barrel aged beer."

I say pasteurize the stuff before it leaves the brewery. Who cares? How much is bottle conditioning going to improve this beer? probably not much IMO. The yeast doesnt make or break a dark barrel aged, coffee beer like this. You can hardly tell its there to begin with. I know its sacrilege to any craft brewery, but if its just for 1 beer with a specific issue, do it. I'd rather have pasteurized PM than no PM. Who's with me?

(Actually id rather have: non infected > pasteurized > no PM)

I actually liked the infected PMs I had last year.

I agree with you, but they take a turn at a certain point. Initially, a little sour in the stout is good I think, but after a while mine developed a metallic / licking a battery taste.

But before they go south taste wise, I like sour stouts, Infected PM included.
