Like me (or not), you may get stuck in one style of beer. I like to stick to what I know so I normally stick with one or two styles of beer...
What are your 5 favorite styles of beer with your favorite beer by that style(s)

    1. American IPA - Zombie Dust (all those about to say "It's a pale ale" can suck it, it's an IPA)
    2. American Double/Imperial IPA - Heady Topper (just barely beats out Stone RuinTen)
    3. Belgian IPA - Stillwater Why Can't IBU? (Has recently dethroned Le Freak from that title)
    4. Saison/Farmhouse Ale - Prairie 'Merica (tough decision here but I had to go with a Brett beer)
    5. American Double/Imperial Stout - BCBS

I would also like to note that "Coffee Beers," while not having their own style category, are very near and dear to me and, in a way, I like Funky Buddha's MBCP better than a couple of the beers listed above. But, since it's tied to the style of American Porter which is not one of my favorite styles, it does not make the cut.

Both Heineken and Heineken Light (the latter of which is primarily marketed only the US) are all-malt. The Heineken recipe (for the US export version, at least) changed to all-malt back in the 1990s IIRC.

Gosh, favorites in five styles? So many choices, but right now I'll say:

Russian Imperial Stout: Stone Espresso IRS
    Imperial IPA: Lagunitas Hop Stoopid
Belgian Strong Dark Ale: Midnight Sun Monk's Mistress
Barleywine (among American and English): Midnight Sun Arctic Devil
    American Strong Ale: Double Bastard

Now I DO like me some golden-hued Belgians, but the darker styles have seduced me. The hilarious thing is that back when I when I was a burgeoning, beginning beer drinker, I claimed to prefer "light beer." Hahahaha. Now I love the darkest, most viscous, rich and robust ales out there.

RIS - Thirsty Dog Siberian Night
American Porter - GLBC Edmund Fitzgerald
DIPA - Great Lakes Lake Erie Monster
    Hefeweizen - Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen
American IPA - NoDa Hop Drop n Roll

Honorable mentions to Dunkelweizen - Mash House Dunkelweizen and English ESB/Session/Pale - Fortnight English Ale/Bull City Burger Clay Street on hand pump (that shit is addictive).

not saying this whole list is the best in its respective category, but its all stuff that is decently accessible, yet tastes amazing.

My list was not meant to be taken seriously. I was "jess kidden". I could care less how Heineken is made!
