Depends on how long dinner prep is. My favorite time to drink is when I'm cooking.

I'm young and don't impose any limits on myself. Occassionally I'll take a day off, but I pretty much drink every single day, amounting to the alcohol equivalent of around four to six 5% ABV 12 oz. beers. However, the stuff I drink is usually strong enough that I rarely drink more than three 12 oz bottles, or a bomber plus one 12 oz. per day. So I exceed the medically recommended "two beers per day" limit, and I have no shame. NO SHAME, I say.

10 to 12 a night, but I don't drink on Monday, but I do cut lose on the weekends and may average 20 beers a day, but that 20 session beers at 6.5 abv, so really were talking 6 beers

2-3 a day and the weekends are a crap shoot. May as well get away with it while I can before I become older and my metabolism slows down. Also I am in the boat of people that go to the gym 3-4 times a week and look at as a bit of a reward. Tip: wear brewery shirts to the gym so when you look in the mirror you know what the real goal is

Haha! Seriously though, there might be something to that. I haven't gotten sick a single time in over a year (the time since I've been a beer drinker, basically). And before that, I never went that long without getting a bad cold a flu. Just sayin'...

< 1 per day, on average. It's more like no beer during the week (or sometimes ONE with dinner) and up to three or four in one sitting on most weekends. I probably drink less than 100 ounces a week. Of course, I like the strong beers...

I don't impose any limits on myself, I usually only have one or two a night during the week just because that's what I feel like having. The weekend is usually not that much different, I'll have a beer after I get home and know I don't have to do anything else that day. This last weekend I think I had like 6 beers Saturday and Sunday. I don't think I could drink the 12-20 other people are saying they drink in a day. Maybe my tolerance is very low but I'd be pretty drunk off of 10 regular beers. In addition to be drunk, ten beers is about a gallon of fluid. That is a lot of peeing.

I usually drink 1-3 a day. Try to take a day off once or twice a week but sometimes that doesn't go as planned.

Wowee, either a lot of people are answering sarcastically or an alarming number of BA's are full-fledged alcoholics. I try not to pass judgement, but 5+ beers every day is an alcoholic no matter how you slice it. Not really something to encourage.

And to answer the topic, I usually have one beer 3-4 nights during the week then 2 on Friday/Saturday, so averages pretty close to 1 a day. Often these are bigger or stronger beers though.

OK Doctor... please provide a source. Anyone who thinks drinking a few beers a day makes you an alcoholic should probably just resign from BA, and is incrediably naive.

What do you think people drank before there was purified city water?? Duh, yeah, beer and cider. All day, every day. It seems civilization progressed nicely on that diet.

Edit: your characterization of alcoholism is actually patently offensive to anyone who has actually had a friend/family member who suffered from the disease.

Except if the way you're slicing it is the actual clinical definition.

This is like asking for a source about global warming. They are everywhere.

Beer / alcohol used for sustenance is much lower ABV than what the typical craft beer is. Also, your version of what things were like back then needs a source because that's a much bolder claim than my intuitively obvious observation.

Drinking a whole bunch of beer every day and calling it a hobby is offensive to anyone who has had a friend/family member who suffered from the disease. NOT my comment.

I'm done here, I'm not willing to risk my membership to the site over trying to convince people who won't be convinced. My point is that there is NO health professional that will say drinking 5+ beers a day is a good idea, and to validate it in the name of "hobby" is dangerous. I am not saying there's anything wrong with having a couple beer every day, but there are people claiming to drink 10 standard drinks a day. That's scary.

If drinking isn't ruining or hurting your social/family/work life, and you're in good health I don't think drinking 1-2 beers everyday is that big of a deal.

I generally try to avoid drinking during the workweek, but when I crack open the occasional beer on Tue night my wife doesn't say a word..probably because I never overdo it. I'm a friendly drunk anyway.

I drink about 10 beers a week, never more than 3 a day (except rare occasions).

At the bar usually 4 - 5 pints. At home 4 - 5 bottles. Maybe twice a week at most.
