Founders KBS Release (2014)

I'd go for either The Meanwhile or Billy's.. you would have a greater chance of getting a table at Uccello's or Peppino's but your also more likely to have to put up with some guys douchery

 

How do you figure that? One would think that most people going to a resteraunt like ucellos or peppinos are going for food, not craft beer.

 

just my personal opinion.. when I lived in GR I didn't have great luck with either establishment in any of the locations. I'd rather wait a little longer with some fellow BA's then deal with some Jager fueled frat boy

Ahhhh, now it makes sense. You are still butthurt from them cutting your allocation. If anyone is interested, I will be raising my glass to toast this guy not being there promptly at noon on Saturday of the release.

 

I propose we make an entire week out of this practice! Anonymous1 is keeping butthurt strong! Perhaps local bars in Grand Rapids could hold events celebrating this, and we can all raise a glass!

Is anyone thinking of heading to Buffalo Wild Wings for the insane novelty of drinking KBS at a buffalo wild wings?

I have had some world class beers at BW3s. There used to be a BW3s in indy that had an awesome beer selection.

 

I went to a Founders tap takeover at a BWW once. They were serving 22oz pours of Backwoods. Was awesome. Hoping that happens again.

 

Bells had their Tigers opening day event at the new Buffalo Wild Wings downtown. BB9K and Black Note like whaaat. There was another location here selling huge Black Note pours at a fraction of what the beer bars are charging.

It's so wrong and so right all at the same time.

 

Some interesting stats on this year's release. Founders just posted on their Facebook that they raised $11,190 for the Grand Rapids Whitewater Project. Since all of the $5 proceeds go to the project, you can do the math for their brewery bottle release this year:

So is founders actually closed to people who do not have tickets? Or are the tickets for walking up and buying the beer?

 

Founders will be open. Especially Saturday it will be on tap for all

 

With never going to either place as I am not from GR, I plan on going to these douchey establishments in hope there is not a crazy line for KBS.

I've had the pleasure of having a few pints of Zombie Dust and Gumball Head at a BW3s near South Bend. It was a helluva suprise.

 

I am going to be the tourist beer drinker for this year's release. I'll see you at The Score.

 

I'll be at Peppinos Friday after I get my bottles.. I got more KBS on reserve then I'll get at the brewery..
PS. Im slowing down on the stouts after kbs or I won't be floating on my skim/surfboard this summer..
