I figure I will wait until the 16 ounce screw top cans of Alpine Nelson made in Minnesota come out before I start thinking about the kegs from Green Flash.

It may not be at the same volume, but that's also because there's more cross-pollination of San Diego beers into L.A. than there is for L.A. beers into San Diego (so you've got a wider group who've had/are familiar with SD beers). A quick look at this thread shows there's plenty of demand for Craftsman bottles/cans that's gone unmet.

Heady is a great beer, but I think it's appearance is it's biggest downfall. Also we all know Duet should not have a 1/4 inch of sediment at the bottom of a glass filled with *********s.

I expect that from Heady, but not Duet, especially huge chunks of hops.

Maybe Alpine should start canning and put "Drink from the can!" like Heady does. That way nobody will be able to tell.

I'm not positive, but I think the Minnesota thing fell through.

Seriously? Drain pour because of some floaties? Whole leaf hop floaties! Get the fuck out of here.

Only verified residents of Alpine get floaty-free beer.

Have you eaten hops before? It's pretty gross...

I'd say whole leaf hops goes beyond "floaties." Gotta love Alpine QC.

Allowed? Three is the bottle limit (as of last Saturday anyway). I will hate life if they lower the limits again. Good looking out though, I will pour the Duet's carefully.

    LOL.

That was more of a tongue in cheek commentary that maybe Heady says to do that because the beer itself is so ugly.

I was only allowed to by two but maybe because it was in the pub? They had about 8 bottles of Nelson when I sat down and I just figured they would stock more if they sold out...well that didn't happen, so I left with just 2 bottles of Duet.

Your saying that Alpine said something was done and then didn't happen? Surely you jest. Green flash would be nuts to deal with those guys at Alpine. But damn Alpine beer is damn near perfect.

It's frustrating how sometimes their IPAs are outstanding and other times just terrific.
