You know what.... I really don't think Jeff gets enough credit for this sort of thing. No lottery tickets, no BS about what charity your $15 or $20 ticket will benefit when you're allowed to get your one 6 or 8 ounce pour of younger, and no advanced ticketing at the beer bar in advance. The keg comes in, Jeff taps it right away, and he applies his usual mark-up. When it's gone, it's gone; end of story until next year.

    Frankly, it's quite refreshing.

Agreed, in fact it was so down low this year even I missed it because I don't stare at my Facebook account all the time.....and I was only 10 minutes down the road. Jeff does a great job.

Seriously. Just left Memphis Taproom. I'm home now. The bar has great food, and PtY was not FLYING off the keg. I was there for two hours, had two PtY's a person (6 total) without effort, and could have easily had more, if I didn't need to go to work.

$9 a pour and no lines.
Will it be there until 5? - probably, but not much longer.

Thanks so much for the info. I will definitely make sure to be there at least 1/2 early. This is probably the only chance I'll get to try PtY.

Let's hope for a smoother event!

Not sure about last years event.

I was hoping it would be during the week since I work around the corner. 1 ticket per person for a 5oz pour doesn't seem worth going out of your way for a taste.

I'd try to be a littler earlier, allow time to locate parking.

Definitely not a half, all PtY kegs sent here are sixtels.

Anyone else here dissapointed that the majority of these tappings are basically in the afternoon on weekdays? Some of us beer geeks have to work...:slight_frown:

Memphis Taproom definitely had a 1/2 yesterday, so I guess they ALL aren't sixtels.
I took an extended lunch to go get some.

Really? My mistake then, I was told they were all sixtels.

Last year, Monk's and Local 44 both got half-barrels.

Speaking of Local 44, has anyone gotten a PtY email blast from any of the Brendan/Leigh bars? I got the "watch for it" blast last weekend, and then silence. Did I miss it or has it not come yet?

Any others? I don't subscribe to Memphis because it's far away and not nearly as accessible to me as the other 3.

How early would one need to line up at Monks to presumably make it in when they open? 9:30? Earlier? I know no one knows for sure but educated guesses are welcome.

If you'd take the time to read the whole thread you would have seen I already acknowledged that I was wrong, but thanks for your input.
