Completely agree, every time I go there, their service is always excellent no matter who is working!

Soooooo… i'll be up in Iowa City this weekend and strongly debating driving through and going to Decorah for the MD tapping and hopefully the last of the King Sue…

Worth it? It'll be a six hour drive back down to STL.

If you're going to be driving back that night after drinking all that... probably not. Safety first.

But, if you've never had Mornin' Delight.. might very well be worth it

    If I decide to….

Don't know how the GF feels about it… if King Sue will still be available she will probably be in.

Tap room opens at noon. Can we please not start the line up early hype?

Let me crash this party. I had king sue. Yeah, it was alright, but I wished it was pseudoSue. I really could taste the extra alcohol in this one. Not enough malt/hops to hide it from my taste buds. Returned home and enjoyed the heck outta an IIPA from MN.

    Why mess with perfection?

Well... Since I'm driving in from Missouri. It would be nice to know.

    Helpful info would be appreciated

I say never underestimate the determination of the other guy. Especially when you have a drive like yourself.

I personally would be there earlier than open if I was putting those kind of miles behind me to have a chance at MD.

I could not disagree with you more. To my palate, King Sue was perfection. Funny how tastes work.

I was at TG when they did the Mornin' Delight AND King Sue release. The taproom opened at Noon, did not get there until 1:30 and the place was still half empty.

This isn't Assassin Day people, relax. Someone isn't going to stroll up to the bar and get ten growlers of MD...

I'm not going, but, with that said, allot of folks I know that would make the drive are at Hunahpu Day. Keep in mind though, this tapping has been known for three weeks, or so, while the previous keg was only announced a few days in advance.

I would suspect this factor gave plenty of people enough time to make plans to attend this. You are probably correct though that the taproom will be half empty at 1:30pm.

    You just never know though.

Also wasn't the last tapping on a Friday afternoon rather than a Saturday? Not saying there should be a line around the place at noon, but I'm guesing you'd see more people at 1:30 on Saturday rather than 1:30 on a Friday.

It was also probably the worst day for driving this year, roads were terrible. I'll be there at 8AM, who wants to share some bottles! :stuck_out_tongue:
