Original Gravity Bottleshare - March 8th, Noon

sounds like se are really good, and then others…. so who knows what could happen with your bottle.

 

Are these regular events? I would love to attend, but I have a company party later that day and will have plenty of libations there.

 

We try to have them once a month on the 1st Saturday of the month, but... like this month sometimes they slide around a little

 

How long do these events tend to run?

 

It really all just depends on how many people show up, with how many bottles each.
(there are always over-achievers)

Figure if everyone brings at least 2 bottles and you have 10-12 people which seems to be the average the past few months - 4-5 hours give or take... Some people get there late, and some leave early, it's all up to you...

I know I am at least bringing along something quite hoppy, if you are keene on that idea

 

Sounds like a blast. If I'm feeling up to it I might stop by, otherwise I'll be sure to catch the next one. Do people usually post what they're bringing or leave it a surprise?

 

Little of column A, little of column B. I tend to pick my bottles morning of.

 

Generally its nice to know ahead of time. You may think "well I don't need to post this because there's no way anyone else will bring it!" and then you end up having to drink 2 2012 iced BARTs. Not a terrible thing, but just saying...

That being said I personally am taking some requests so whaddaya want

 

oh the 1st World problems us beer drinkers have to live with today

...but as others have said sometimes we post what we are bringing, and others times it is "just see what shows up" - motto to live by when it comes to these dilemmas seems to be "quality over quantity", it is less about drinking a whole lot and more about "I just got to drink something I have always wanted to try".
(well it is about that for me anyway)

Having said all that, FocusDave, what are you thinking of bringing?

 

I'm still not sure if I'll be able to make it, but if I do come I'll likely bring Prairie Puncheon.

 

Anyone care for some Kern Citra?

 

It just dawned on me as I read back though this thread, with some people asking about details on this share...

Search is your friend - do a few searches here in the Pacific forum on OG or Original Gravity or bottle share, etc in the title - there are pictures of most of the shares we have done over the past year. You will get a pretty good idea of what is "usually" brought, how long things last, how many people, etc

 

Rare Barrel growler, couple of other midwest things, maybe something from Texas. Nothing crazy.

 

I just wanted to let you guys know that I joined a group of NYC foster children on my walk home and now there is a video of us dancing and singing to celebrate the release of their movie. So thanks for the copious amounts of excellent beer.
