A different situation because breweries like Fullers (small regionals) have always been around, meaning that so called "craft" beer has always been available. The rise of small craft breweries began several decades ago, there are around 1200 of them serving a nation of 60 million.

I understood his point. My point is most American BAs have very little to compare it as a baseline. Most of the stuff held in high regard on this site due to numerous ratings (in the bottle or keg ) wouldn't even get consideration over there unless the pubs were closed.

Although I recently had an 1845 that was a few weeks before expiration and it was great. Love me some Fuller's

I recently saw a picture of Fuller's London Porter in cans...has anyone seen the cans in the states? If so, ISO!

Yeah, that's certainly a style that'll hold up much better than their bitters.

Give me some fish and chips with a Fullers ESB and my perfect meal is complete.

It's ALWAYS a good time for a fresh Fuller's. As long as they're fresh (which thanks to dating is easy to find out) - their beers are wonderful. London Pride in particular is really, really nice. One of my faves, especially in the 1/2L cans.

As long as it's cask. The exported keg and bottled versions don't measure up. It's not that they're bad, just nowhere near the level of cask London Pride.

I guess the impression people get of Sams Smiths's is very different in America to what we get in the UK. In the USA Sam Smith's is a decent range of bottled beers. In the UK it's a brewery known mainly for its pubs, which are mostly keg beer along with one cask ale (which I'm not a fan of). The bottles are available in the pubs and some off licences, but they're not in supermarkets so most people probably don't know about them.

Their pubs are distinctive though and have a good "local" atmosphere even in city centres.

London Pride is great, but I have a hard time justifying the cost when Edmund Fitzgerald is so much less expensive. But it's been a long time since I've had it...maybe I need to go change that.

I've been in a number of their pubs. Many are historical gems. It's too bad they serve unimpressive keg beer. Their single cask is uninspiring, as you said. I end up leaving them rather soon due to beer boredom.

I love Fullers Ales and love Samuel Smith. But here in the USA, must rely on bottled. Love real cask when I can get it. We need more US Session styles of ale.

I just saw and bought a rarity in these parts: Fuller's Honey Dew in the new bottles.

There is a pub near my work that always has Fullers on draft. It got a lot of my friends into craft.

The best time to drink Fuller's is "when one is in front of you"
