I'll admit, I wanted to try the Busch. After your pic, it seems like only thing with copper color is the can. This I'll pass. Thanks for the heads up!

I apologize to all my fellow cold weather inhabitants but I'm on vacation...fresh Jai Alai and no snow are such a welcome change!

Back from Max's, had Fyne Ales - Hurricane Jack and De Struise - Black Albert. I wasn't blown away by Black Albert but what the hell, it was still drinkable for 13 %. My main reason of going to Max's was for this little gem.

This beer is a hop heads session brew. There is a malt presence that is boarder line firm for such a low ABV. So it's got body and not just hop water.

    Blasting this!

Cheers BAs! Have a safe Weekend!

    Niiiiiice.
Bottled Jarl is really really good. But its outrageously superb on cask.

Love halfdays on a Friday. Relaxing with my daughter. Watching Disney Jr. and sipping on SN Bigfoot. This is def one of the best barleywines out there. Got a 2013 Narwhal and FIS waiting in the fridge. Happy Friday all

I had the pleasure of having it on tap, not on cask yet :slight_frown:. It was phenomenal on tap. Bottle is still great.

You know it. And thanks for all that. I just checked and I still have bottles in the house and one's now in the fridge getting chilled.

How old was it? I saw a sixer in the cooler at a local store bottled 12/28/13 and was debating buying, decided not to as I thought it was too old.

I agree with you on your review. This beer is a hidden gem in the vast ocean of brews today.

Awesome. Now I'm leaving work early. Warm. Sunny. Ready for some Funeral Doom.

On another note: Black Albert Russian Imperial Stout followed by Hurricane Jack.
Would the musical equivalent be Evoken followed by Jimmy Buffet?

Waiting on a baby furniture delivery, reading A Game of Thrones, listening to the new rap album based off of it and just poured my first Surly Abrasive. Delicious beer, super happy. Thanks @edmaher

Actually Black Albert was like Immortal. Not too adventurous, but still trve to style.
