If it is true about CO, that is complete BS about this beer from Saint Arnolds. We struggle to get it in places in TX and are forced to pay inflated prices thanks to the way SA "thanks" bars here, while CO? Let if sell for $5 and no big deal.

This was not our intent. It was a distributor issue. It's being resolved.

I just find it interesting that it sells for 5.49 elsewhere and they are making money yet the cheapest around here was 9.

Maybe, perhaps it's time for it to be distributed fully to stores, and keep this a TX-only beer!

I heard they were giving away cases of Double Barrel Hunahpu too...

All of CO got less than 20 cases of BB6. We don't set the prices at stores/bars/restaurants, that's up to the owner.

So Denver got 20 cases is what you are saying? How many did Austin get out of curiosity?

20 cases that had no on-premise restriction and thus went directly to store shelves. Would be nice if it worked that way here too, instead of us being subjected to jacked up on-premise charges.

    Thanks, St Arnold.

Like I said in a previous post, this was an issue with the distributor. They were supposed to go to restaurants/bars.

Not refuting the issue with the distributed, but how is it still an issue on the 6th release of the series?

How many made it to Austin?

This was the first release in Colorado. I don't know the numbers that made it to Austin.

Production-wise, isn't this one smaller than other BB series? Therefore, why is it even leaving Texas?

Per Brock, I can post a pic if needed:

"We sent about 10 cases of BB6 to Colorado (all markets we distribute to got some). Same price as Texas. Didn't limit those 10 cases to on premise as our distribution there is still small. Off premise works on a very low margin. I think 2 liquor stores in Denver got a case each."

So how is it a distributor problem if they weren't limited to begin with?

It's so obvious that this is a way for SA to 1) get more money to the bars that give them the most taps and 2) use that as incentive for bars to give them more taps and business. The money for SA isn't on the Bishops Barrel, it's in the extra kegs of Lawnmower, Amber, and Santo. It's just business and it happens in every industry, but don't confuse it for anything more...especially not an attempt to allow more customers to try the beers.

It is what it is. There's nothing wrong with it and other breweries would do the same if they could because they are all businesses.

I still don't understand why anyone has a problem that CO got bb6 and sold it at bottle shops. We've already been conditioned to pay anywhere from $6 to $12 per bottle, we've gladly paid that price for 6 runs of this stuff. We knew how much Saint Arnold sold it to their Texas accounts for since the first release, and were just now having a fit over the price discrepancy and the idea that it was easier to acquire in CO?

Why wouldn't you make it simple for a new market to acquire your beer so easily? Distribute your bb6, maybe bb7 to bottle shops to set you up for that long term thirst/hunger/struggle. When bb8 hits CO and it's at the point of distribution where it finally IS on premise with limited to go, you can be damn sure their new price point will reflect it.

If you're thirsty for bb6, hop on a plane and acquire the fuck out of it.

Or go to the many places around Houston that still have it available right now...
