Arbor Clementine Saison, the fizziest beer in the world. So fizzy you can't taste anything and barely swallow, so you stir it gently to release some of the carbonation and the whole thing explodes everywhere like a volcano. Sigh. Beer stained dissertation work is cool right?

Brew By Numbers saved the fruity saison day with the Moteuka and Lime Saison, nicely balanced and wonderfully zesty.

Now onto an amazing Wild Beer Evolver IPA, a great balance between wild sourness and powerful hops.

Is it a paper mache model of a prehistoric hill fort?

I'm now on a Lion Stout :sunglasses:

No but that would be cool. The university's iron age specialist is Glaswegian and therefore I think would appreciate the abv of the model. (You may have seen him on recent BBC programmes)

My dissertation is about Early Viking Age Dublin (connected slightly with York!)

Finished the 7 beers mentioned above as well as an Artisan/Pipes Vienna Red Lager, so now on to a Dolle Arabier.

Fucking hell that's a heroic effort....

I've had a William Bros' Chieftain, and am now on Thornbridge's Reverend & the Makers Summer Ale. Tasty stuff - I know it's not really summer but the weather today has been exceptional

Seems like it was a preemptive rugby celebration

So the real celebration begins today? :grinning:

Arbor's De Rokerij - a smoky Belgian ale (or something). Not bad....

    Could be, could be.....

Although when I first saw Revisionist lager on the shelves my initial impression was that the cogs in the logo bear more than a passing resemblence to Meantime's labels.

Meantime, Oakham's Citra. Ooooh yeah

In addition to what I replied on facebook with:
Just checked the urban tap house website, currently have Crouch Vale Blackwater Mild and Tyne Bank Dark Brown Ale (which sounds like a euphemism for mild). Might have to blow the last of this weeks money on satiating my mildlust (like bloodlust but more fun).

Without getting into the minutiae of brewing and style, it's a brown ale bud.

No, it's a dark brown ale, bud. But seriously have you never seen the multitude of euphemisms breweries have for milds? Also jokes?

Sad really, mild is nowt to be ashamed of. Tyne bank, being from my neck of the woods, I tend to get the gen first hand. Still haven't bumped into it unfortunately, cask brown being a rarity even in its heartland.
