According to the hunterdon release page red poppy was released starting today. Anyone know which stores are getting it? I went to joe canals in Woodbridge and they said they didn't get it today which is most likely a lie, but they usually tell me they didn't get the hard to find stuff even when they do.

Not that this helps, I bought it in Philly yesterday for $24... Can anyone give me a judgement on that price?

not that this helps either but how did you get word about what Hunterdon released today? The beer list on the great brewers site doesn't seem to have been updated since the list from 2/24.

Seems about right for PA prices. I think I remember seeing it sitting on shelves forever here in Jersey last year for about $17.

You should be able to find it at any good store. So I would think JC Woodbridge would be on that list. You just have to know what day of the week they get their Hunterdon shipments.

Mondays are there hunterdon delivery days. I picked up stone go to IPA, which was also released this week. This is the usual run around that I get at canals. I understand holding stuff back for events or for regulars to get first crack at it, but they constantly just tell me they didn't get it in.

Yeah. I'd find somewhere else to buy. Or try and become friendlier with the right people. I dk what your approach is, but if you're just going in and asking for the newest release without being all that friendly, then I dk. But even still, I prefer stores that just do first come, first served with everything regardless of whether you jerk the employees off or not.

Paid $15.99 for it last year here in NJ

For comparison sake it's $15.00 a bottle at the Lost Abbey tasting room

Lost abbey didn't show up in hunterdon's warehouse as they had expected so no one got it with the monday or tuesday deliveries at least.

JC in woodbridge has a habit of doing this now. Giving customers the run around, not sure why but I've stopped shopping there for this reason. I'm very friendly with the staff and they still act this way. Its just beer, if you don't want to sell it to me I'll just go to one of the other stores in NJ that gets it. This place was much better when Zach was the beer manager.

I also shop there and get the runaround quite often. I think it really depends on who you talk to. Sometimes when I call there they say something isn't in stock. I end up going there anyway and it's there on the shelf or in the back. Maybe their system doesn't update the same day with new shipments or they just are holding back to people over the phone. Either way it's annoying. That store has been getting worse and worse with that.

Everyone has always been super friendly with me too. I haven't asked for anything super limited but after BCBS was released i stopped in for a few things and overheard one of the younger kids there come out with a four pack from the back for a customer and then inform a few coworkers no more. Store seems to have more employees stocking and asking customers if they need help than they do beer fanatics holding limited stuff. But again we never know what happens in the back. I'll probably take a trip this week and see if theres any available.

Stopped by Joe Canals Iselin. No Red Poppy there. They said they didn't get it in this week. They said probably next week. Gotta love Hunterdon.

Was told Maine was out of stock too and Red Wheelbarrow and King Titus showed up without even being ordered. I have a pretty good salesman.

On the higher end, but the absolute lowest price you'll ever find in town is $20. Usual range is $22-$25. So, not outrageous. Now I can't promise the beer is worth anything close to that price, but that's a different story

Apparently Hunterdon is distributing it out tomorrow... at least according to a conversation I had with a salesman.
