Truth be told, I haven't been in years (with two kids, we can barely find time to go to the bathroom) but they have a few taps which emulate their local/seasonal/quality mantra.

In Boston I would say only Picco and Row 34 excel at both beer selection and food.

Some of the better restaurants may not have lists as extensive as Row 34/Picco, but I still think they have good craft selections. For example, Strip-T's in Watertown has some of the best food in the area (New American/Asian Fusion), and the beer list always has some nice offerings (Sixpoint, Founders, Firestone Walker, usually some locals).

That being said, I definitely weight food more heavily when visiting restaurants, so I'm probably more willing to be okay with a more limited beer selection if the food is superb. And Strip T's is superb!

    Oh, also Picco is amazing.

Their ice cream sundaes are ridiculous...

Appreciate the info in this thread for RI, just hit up Wurst Kitchen inside Chez Pascal a few weeks ago and have to say they had some of the best bites of food I have had in a while. You can not go wrong with Picco and Row 34 and Brian Poe does a very nice job at Tip Tap Room and Estelle's (Fried Chicken Thigh is outstanding). You also have places like JM Curley, Park (Harvard Square), Vee Vee, (Jamaica Plain), A4 that have really nice curated selections.

I do wish that places like Publick House who have phenomenal selections would take their food up another notch so I could be psyched to spend a few hours eating and drinking vs drinking and thinking about where I am going for dinner.

Honestly, when I'm dropping coin at a place like that a nice beer list is gravy on top. The food is what it's all about and to miss out on any of these places because the beer was lousy would be unfortunate. Seems like you guys are on the same boat on this one. One day though, one day....

Exactly there are so many places I have gone that have amazing food but crappy beer and the opposite as well. That's why i started this thread to see if anyone had found the best of both worlds.

Louis Fullers comes closest for sure. Food is not at the level of Chez Pascal, New Rivers and Farmstead, but the beer beats them all. Tap list is small though (maybe 7 drafts) and bottles are limited. Barstow has some damn good taps, but the food isn't as good as Fuller's. Not even close, in my opinion.

Barstows menu looks decent however they don't have their beer menu posted online which sucks. Too many places don't post their beer selection online.

I'm an alcoholic food snob so I'll drink anything as long as the food is top shelf...
Farmstead is the kind of place that you can swing by on a Saturday afternoon for a cheese plate, some blood sausage, and a pint, glass of vino, or double scotch.
