    With a farmer's market featuring Lawson's.

That sounds like a million dollar weekend - somebody call Gov. Shumlin on this one if he wants to see how to boost tourism dollars here. And ask him to please send the State Police off on a retreat that weekend while he's at it. :flushed:

If I could play Beer Festival Tycoon for a second, I would shut down Main St from Stowe St to Foundry St, let the bars set up beer gardens outside and have food vendors in the streets. Alright, alright, alright!!

Especially if the weather is like last Memorial Day weekend.

Yeah, my local VT sarcasm re: Shumlin & craft beer didn't quite come through, but you helped!

That would be great but it's RT2/100 which is a trucker/commerce route, so not really feasible.

But what a fun time that would be if we could!

It'd be awesome if ProPig sets up the shuttle service they had for the All Day Lawson's event. I wasn't able to make that event, but it sounded like a great idea.

No shut down the side street next to pro pig, let them have a beer garden there. I don't think it will happen, just playing fantasy beer fest.

Ah, understood. I'll take part in that game. The TD Bank parking lot would make a good spot as well as behind the Fire Dept and NSB Bank. And there's a crosswalk right in front of Pro Pig. Hire a couple crossing guards (yeah, like school) and security to prevent drunks from jaywalking and we may be on to something.

That is a good idea. I assume you gotta pull all kind of permits and stuff, it is probably a nightmare to do. It would be cool if there was an easy way for a restaurant to easily ask permission of the town to extend itself beyond it's borders for a once in a while beer garden or "patio"

Permits definitely, and with alcohol, comes significant liability. Much harder to control the situation when it's a never-done-before temporary set-up.

This seems more suited to Burlington.
