Citra vs Galaxy vs Nelson Sauvin

It was Simcoe for me uintil i had HF Double Galaxy and it blew me a way. So i'd have to go Galaxy right now.

 

Nelson Sauvin is definitely my favorite hop. That said, some of the worst IPAs I've ever had used Nelson as the primary hop and came out really bad. It must take some perfecting to get it right (i.e. Alpine Nelson, Noble Nelson Showers, and Prairie Merica - not an IPA but Nelson is the sole hop used).

 

Totally agree; was called crazy by someone when I said I liked galaxy pale over FBD. Can't wait for it to come around again and polish of a growler all by myself.... MINE

 

I was just reading about these hops, they sound great. As soon as my homebrew shop gets some I'll definitely be picking some up.

 

I have to say that my love for citra is diminishing a bit. I'm still brewing with it quite a bit, but I like to add just a little. It's got great flavors, but tends to dominate whatever other hops you're using. If I have a favorite hop, it's got to be simcoe, but again, not as a stand alone. Simcoe just makes other hops taste even better!

Could someone post a common beer that really showcases NS hops? I don't think I've ever had a beer with it before.

Zealander from Toppling Goliath show cases the Nelson hop. Really fruity and earthy hop. I really like it.

 

Citra. I'm biased because I love it in my homebrews. It's also pretty good in ZD.
