Not like an IPA, no. The hops are more herbal/floral and just notched up a bit more on the aroma than the German versions, but the bitterness is still solidly in bock territory.

Anyone with Greenbush Brewing in their distribution footprint should check out their 400 Divine Rabbits, a truly interesting Wheat Ale with alot of delightful fruit flavors (brewed with agave nectar), a mild hop presence, and enough alcohol to get you through on the brisk days, but not make you tired or fatigued (6.3%~)

Mayflower Spring Hop. Outside of last years (off year imo) it is one of the best kept secrets for beer coming out of MA.

I've been shying away from Mayflower a bit because it seems like a lot of their stuff is too thin, although the taste is definitely there. Does this one have a bit more body? I'm due for a trip to the store and I started seeing this one on the shelf a couple weeks ago.

Medium-light with moderate to high carbonation. Very appropriate of the style imo. I don't really want a lowish abv amber to be chewy but ymmv.
