Alaskan's Hoar Frost IPA (Rough Draft Series) Sorry for the blurriness of the growler cap not showing up correctly, but hey, I'm back, I'm off my meds, concussion's subsiding for the most part. I might not be able to play ice hockey for the rest of the season but here in SE Alaska, there's gonna be a Herb Brooks/Don Cherry lookin' guy standing behind my adult hockey bench that's gonna be yelling: "AGAIN! AGAIN! AGAIN! THE LEGS FEED THE WOLF!" 2018 - USA - DON'T LET UP. I hope every junior hockey or high school or middle school hockey player is reading this and realize that in 2018 that the Gold Medal is ours. There's no ifs, ands or buts, no excuses, whoever plays for this nation of the USA don't f-in' let up! EVER!

This is from a broken down has been adult hockey player on one of my last legs, I just have a couple years left in me, and I better not die without seeing the USA bring a GOLD f-in' medal to my nation!

Another beautiful day in western Germany. It is about 1400 here right now. No work today for me so I went on a 18km bike ride. I did some rearranging of my beer in my storage area and decided it was time to open one. Going to sit on the patio and enjoy the afternoon and get ready for rib-eyes later on today.

I thought about making my first visit to Jack's Abby today because I really wanted to try the PB&J Framinghammer, but it would take up most of my day and I tend to spend more money on beer than I should when I head into MA. So I'm showing some restraint and settling for a Coffee Framinghammer this morning.

I just went to MA two days ago for PB&J Framinghammer...my wallet has quite the hollow sound going on inside of it now. Enjoy the Coffee Framinghammer and your respectful restraint (which I apparently don't have!)

My biggest issue is if I'm driving 2+ hours to and 2+ hours back from there I feel like I need more than just the PB&J Framinghammer to make my trip worth the drive. That leads me to stopping at Redstone Liquors on the way to get some beer I can't get in Maine and I can never leave Redstone without spending $100. So between Jack's Abby, Redstone, lunch, gas, and tolls I'm easily spending $200 and I really shouldn't do that...

OK. Up early, day off, house empty…

Time to try some of the cellar "turds."

First was this one… Guy at the store talked me into it ("it's barrel aged!").

First warning should have boon no "pop" then I uncorked, and then the second sign should have been no head/carbonation when I poured. Wow was it tart, like drinking vinegar. Flat vinegar. Undrinkable… So it got "drain poured…"

    Second round. Much better!

Very crisp, a little tart, a little dry, mucho carbonation. not overpowering. I Like!

Very pleased with my consecration clone! I may try this one again and use a little better wine for the barrel. Cheers,

I'm sure that had more than a pop when it was uncorked.

Beautifully crisp and refreshing, this beer drinks much lighter than what it actually is. In a blind taste test, I'd have sworn this was a pale ale, and a mighty fine one at that. Two thumbs up to the folks at New Belgium on a great effort...

Brew Kettle White Rajah - just a lowly IPA but very piney and refreshing.
