Surly Smoke

Giving this old thread some mouth-to-mouth. Anybody seen bottles lately? Surprisingly haven't seen any at a few places where they're regularly gathering dust, any leads would be appreciated.

 

I saw some both in red wing and Roch in the past few days, seems to be less popular in the hinterlands.

 

I am pretty certain it was in the cooler at Sentyrz in NE Minneapolis. If it wasn't Smoke it was something else decent looking in a bomber. If I get back ther in the next couple of days, I will confirm!

 

How far are you willing to drive in order to score a bottle?

Sharrett's has some (and in that same, general area, Midway has some SeVIIn.)

 

I've seen it at Zipps and South Lyndale (within the week)...it doesn't go quickly.

 

Just saw about half a case (or more depending what was in the box underneath it) in Plymouth Liquors right off of 55.

 

Still at Blue Max. '13 and '14

 

Good lord. I must have hit the only half-dozen stores in the metro without if it's still at Zipp's, Blue Max, etc. Didn't even try the big guys (except Princeton's) figuring it was gone already. Thanks.

 

30+ bottles sitting at Haskell's in Saint Paul.

 

All over Rochester and I saw it in Lakeville too

Doesn't matter, no Smoke of any vintage at Blue Max, stopped in this afternoon. Couple other sleeper locations were out too, so I'll have to stop at Zipp's or someplace on the way downtown. This is becoming personal, Smoke.

 

2 years definitely available at Thomas in St Paul. Shorter drive.

 

Thanks, they still had a couple at Zipp's. But I haven't been to Thomas in a long time, need to make a pilgrimage over there anyways.

 

might I suggest this Friday, between 4-7, for Indeed tasting (plus, always some cellar surprises from Fitty and customers...)

 

Revising this old thread, since I have heard Smoke is supposed to be released this month and it's my favorite beer from surly! Even more so then Abrasive or Darkness! I hope this years release is a Smoke bomb! Anyone know any exact release details yet?

Wow. I remember when this place wasn't so negative about everything.
I never thought I liked smoked beers until I had smoke, it is very underated imo, can't wait to get some again.
