Me and a few buddies are visiting a friend down in Myrtle Beach, SC over the weekend of June 1. We are all from NJ and wanted to know if anybody had some suggestions. Ideally, I am looking for the following...

Bottle Shops to get some beers I cant get in NJ?

Beer Pubs/Restaurants for some good craft beer/food?

Any other beer-related things I should be doing?

    Appreciate everyone's help. Thanks!

    First, check myrtlebeachcraftbeer.com

The only bottle shop worth hitting is the Piggly Wiggly at Market Common. And no, I'm not kidding. They have a four tap growler station as well.

Liberty at Broadway Is worth hitting at happy hour. The new brewer is putting out a better product, and the happy hour menu is a great deal on some good apps.

The Mellow Mushroom probably has the best taps. I hear good things about the Crafty Rooster in Conway, but it's a bit of a drive.

Plenty of good spots to hit, second the pig at market commons. You can also hit New South Brewing which is near the Pelicans stadium and Broadway at the Beach

Quigley's pint and plate is another good spot, not sure where you are staying but it's in the southern portion of Myrtle, actually in Litchfield Beach, pretty good beer, specials and really tasty food.

    Enjoy your trip!

The Pig for bottles and Growlers, I've had Sculpin, and Hopsickle on tap. Not a great beer bar place IMO, but Liberty Ale House is the best by default I guess. A new brewer may change that I hope.

You may also want to check out For What It's Worth - around 77th Ave. North and Business 17 in MB (across from Liberty Tap Room). He has a nice selection of bottles and about 4-6 taps. I was there a couple of weeks ago and he had Mexican Cake, Sexual Chocolate, Hopzilla and Little Hump on draught. Great burgers, too.

Also check out Good Time Charleys if in the Broadway at the Beach area. Right on Celebrity Square with good prices and great draft selection.
