Year old Deertay! Fantastic.

 

Dropped my daughter off to college after her Spring Break. A little sad, and picking up my spirits with some great wings and Wayerbacher Double Simcoe at a local pub.

I'm always in the doghouse, and yes its heated, and has cable t.v. By all means, Brandon, please come and join me some time, as there's always a well stocked beer fridge there. I just push this cute little thing outa the way at times.

Always a good reason to drink local! I completely understand as I have been picking up quite a few local (PA state brewery) beers myself lately.

Really nice Amber ale. Grapefruit, orange zest, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, and toasted earthiness. Really well balanced hop and malt flavors with good robustness for the modest ABV.


Another really nice seasonal from Ommegang. Seems like a Belgian IPA with saison yeast. Grapefruit, lemon zest, tangerine, pineapple, orange peel, pear, light banana, clove, pepper, light bubblegum, floral, grass, bread, cracker, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of yeast spice and floral hop bitterness on the finish with a very crisp and lightly sticky mouthfeel. Delicious


Wasn't sure what to expect here, but it turned out to be a spiced ginger amber ale. Really nice brew. Caramel, ginger, toast, brown sugar, pear, apple, light citrus zest, brown bread, toffee, herbal, floral, grass, light clove, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Really well balanced malt and ginger flavors with a bit of yeast ester fruitiness. Very robust.


This is excellent. Nice bright hop flavors of tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, mango, and lemon/orange zest with moderate pine; with a fair amount of caramel/toast/chocolate maltiness. Very crisp body that still gives the IPA feel. They did a nice job here.
