I sometimes hire my nephew to do the cleaning when it's all over. That way I can have a bomber and a growler and a 750, and my junk is also clean come morning. :grinning:

Going to use moderation but we will be drinking some ales that feature the citra hops and another friends home brew. I can't wait!

Cheers to everyone for all the good advice (well I think its good) and comments. Looking forward to being able to contribute to this forum.

How'd brew day go? Any tips?

Was thinking about doing a Zombie Dust clone for my first solo go 'round.

Brew say went smooth and the beer turned out good. It's no zombie dust but for a first brew I can't complain. I posted a 2nd thread about the end results.

I followed what people said above but the biggest tips are:

    1) have a plan and map out the process. I referred back to the steps to ensure I didn't miss anything and made sure I hit the right times and temps

    2) have potential plan b's available such as if my wort isn't cooling fast enough what else can I do?

    3) use a spray bottle filled with star san as well as a bucket.

    4) make sure you pitch at the right temp.

    5) have a good place for fermentation.

    6) have fun!! But drink too much.

Yeast care and good sanitation are probably the two most important factors.

    Cheers!

little bit of an old thread but I'll bite,

I do late additions and they are great, but my comment was in reference to trying to make an IPA with a partial boil, good luck getting IBU's even with late additions with a concentrated boil......
