Latest Pipeworks Releases and Updates (2018)

Hey Gerrit, BeeJay, ever thought of making a great Hefe? Or maybe while you are in the bomber format you could make a weizenbock?

I can't remember anyone around here really doing this style except for solemn oath seasonal release...which was awesome btw.

 

Sorry if this has already been covered, but where is a good place in Chicago to pick up some of this stuff? I'm travelling through town on Tuesday and would love to check out a good shop or two, maybe even the taproom if they have bottle sales too?

Mint truffle abduction sounds awesome. I hope mint stouts become a more popular style

 

There's no taproom YET. You can always go the Binnys route but I would say West Lakeview Liquors, Capones and Beer Temple are the best spots for getting a very good selection of PW beers.

 

We're goin back Down Unda! Loved Australian Summer (prob my #4 Feature hop behind Amarillo, Citra and Simcoe) so I'm highly anticipating another hoppy beer from the southern hemisphere. As well as the newest member to the Abduction family. I've never had a mint stout but when it's PWs the correct choice is purchase and enjoy.

 

I too am excited for both of these.

I still haven't lucked into any of the BA releases...

 

Forgive my ignorance here, but has Catch Of A Lifetime come and gone? The store I usually go to for my pipeworks fix hasn't had it and doesn't seem to know about it.

 

I'm still seeing it around most places. Maybe they never got it.

 

I was at beer temple on saturday and they still had bottles. i think you need to ask at most places.

 

Some stores that ordered it never got it, including my store.

 

check out www.beermenus.com. Indicates 7 Chicagoland places have it in stock. Best to call ahead because sometimes (looking at you Ardmore Station) it's not entirely accurate.

 

I was just at the Binny's on North Ave. and they had quite a few of each of the BA Pipeworks. Limit one of each per person. West Lakeview has had those Pipeworks in the last two times that I have stopped in. Good luck!

 

Huh, well I wasn't planning on driving to Chicago to get it. Bummer.

 

Just wanted to say cheers to Pipeworks and shop owners for releasing a good deal of the BA stuff, staggering it out, 1-per limits and especially putting them out in 12oz. I can't imagine how fast these would have disappeared if they were in bombers. If we one day see PW putting ~$24 4-packs of The Murderous on shelves, I'll have reached beer nirvana. But for the time being this will more than do.

I am going to call our buddy @Infinite1's job and let them know he's sick so he can swing into the city tomorrow morning to pick up the set...

 

Yeah I am pretty pissed off I won't be going into the city till Next Saturday. Hard to drive 40 miles each way with a chance to strike out

 

You should order a set from WLV today - gotta pay shipping but heck, you'll spend at least half that much in gas driving 80 miles round trip.
