You need to try Jack's Abby Saxonator. Fantastic!

True- but for the most part, most pilsners deserve the scorn. But a great pilsner is a joy to behold.

Sours. There are so few being made, but it is coming around. Especially if it is done right!

-English bitters and milds (both dark and pale)

-Non-hoppy/imperial pilsners (both Czech and German)

    -Munich Helles, Maibocks

For me it's dortmunder/export and well made brown ales. I can't believe people are saying saison here, this is the trendiest style of the past two years in all likelihood. Berliners are coming up fast although there are still few readily available examples on most store shelves.

Biere de garde is definitely an underrated, under-brewed style although personally I'm not a big fan.

A nice Munich dunkel is terrific and certainly underrated in America.

Another dunkel vote. I still think the style is probably more approachable to the average drinker than schwarzbiers and the like. Beers like Amber Bock, Negra Modelo, Shiner Bock, Dos XX Ambar, etc. are essentially a poor man's dunkel and they sell quite well.

Saisons are not so underrepresented based on what is being made and what is readily available, but they are still somewhat underrated as far as appreciation generally goes - in my opinion.

I would like to see more Berliners for sure

On this site, I'd say most German lager styles are passed over for a variety of reasons, but something that always surprises me, is that more people don't talk about Weizenbock on this site. Some Weizenbock beers, especially something like Aventinus, is massively complex, boozy, and packed full of flavors that people love in other styles (such as quads). Other Weizenbock beers drink like tripels, another popular style.

Somehow the poor old German Weizenbock just got dropped through the cracks!

Amber Ales and ESB's. There's so much room for a wider scope of flavours in these styles. Like hops? Check. Like malt? Check. Like lots of flavour? Check. Yet there seen as a pedestrian version of IPA and even Pales. Not so.

From my home brew experience I associated "sour" with toxic, infectious, failure and a months worth of let down.

But from my commercial experience a well done cask aged sour can be absolutely incredible.

    Sours FTW?
