Founders KBS Release (2014)

Just got out....driving from Kzoo

 

I went Tuesday. The glasses are Spiegel.....I got one and a cursive snifter, been wanting that for a bit. Its not my favorite KBS glass but its much better then last years. I didn't like last years at all, the shape, the seemingly half ass seem on the label... none of it. I still want one of the originals but as the years pass that becomes less and less likely and I'm not paying a hundred dollars for a glass. So I figured I may as well get this years.

Getting the KBS was as smooth as it could have been, really pleased with the way they did it this year. In, check ticket, check ID and out.

Had a smoked porter at the tap room and then we headed to one of the tappings to get some fresh draft KBS. After that we stopped back at Founders on the way out of town for a couple growlers. Couldn't have been a better day really.

I think a weekday is the way to do this, sure you may get KBS on tap at Founders on Saturday but I can only imagine the sheer amount of people that will be there then. Just for reference we went to the Republic for the 4pm tapping and the barrel kicked in less than an hour....on a Tuesday.......I was lucky to get 2 glasses.

Ahh...didn't wanna deal with the "basketball" type crowd at B Dubz...not a true fan of KBS anyway...so just gonna stick to some Panther Cub!

 

Of course it's been smooth of you were lucky enough to get tickets online!! Those of us that were 30 seconds too slow can't wait for KBS chatter to end!! But I do have Superfluid and Michigan Mud to help me forget about it. !!

there was a older lady probably 65-70 in front of me getting an allotment and asked them exactly what it was she was getting. lolz

 

When I was there Tuesday with my wife picking up our bottles I saw a young couple with an older couple, clearly the wife and parents (mules) of the man. They all looked pissed and were arguing the whole time. Why the hell do people need to be so greedy? I could see your wife coming along for company, but pissing your parents off for an afternoon just so you can snag an extra 16 bottles of KBS? Get an effin life dude. Meanwhile people who would be happy with 8 bottles get shut out so that douche can ruin his family.

Haha...when I was there today...an older couple was getting two 4 packs per...and some random douche asked if they wanted to sell any of them...and the couple said " No, they are for our son and he would be pissed!"

When Raymo hand bottles, he only uses a clean funnel and a Peg's howler. Only classy moves like this come from Hastings. Grolsch bottles are so Ottawa county.

 

What are the chances of someone not wanting their full allotment tomorrow and selling me a 4 pack?

Prob a FIB and they were stuffed in a car for 4 hours. My wife came with me to get her allotment, shitty thing is she likes stouts and nothing else so I'll have to pull some Houdini shot to snag any of hers.

 

Same here, and of course bourbon county ( and variants), KBS, and black note are her favorites... I'm fine with it though, no one better to share all that great beer with!

 

I just went to pick up my 2 four packs of KBS. Picked up a KBS glass too. I can see how the glass might feel "slim" to some. But I think it's classy. And it became an even better glass after I filled it with one of my bottles of KBS!

 

Thats what I was trying to say, the glass felt slim and light, however It probably is pretty sturdy, and damn is kbs tasting great this year!

 

That's way too optimistic. Better add a zero in front of the first zero.
