Florida Vacation Help, Tampa Area

    I'm flying into Tampa tomorrow at noon, and will be flying home Wednesday late afternoon. Other than CCB and 7venth Sun Brewing, what else should I hit? I'll be staying in Dade City, and will be in Orlando on Monday evening.

    Any other great breweries, beer bars, or stores I should hit? My gf's parents are driving back, so I can bring back as much beer as I want also.

    Also, I went to Peg's last year and was unimpressed. Worth going back? Also read the opened a brewpub. Is that worth going to?

    There is a Brass Tap in Dade City, that will be your best bet for a beer bar near where you're staying. They will fill 32 oz growlers of pretty much anything they have on tap. I've not been to the one in Dade City but I frequent the location at Wiregrass Mall just down the road from Dade City, the Dad City location should have 60+ beers on tap and plenty of local stuff. If your girl wants to do some shopping Wiregrass is the closest decent mall to Dade City and you could tag along and spend some time at the Brass Tap there as well. There is a ABC liquor store adjacent to the mall in Wesley Chapel that had all 5 variants of the CCB 5 Beers for 5 years when I stopped in there today. If you find yourself at the Brass Tap in Wesley Chapel let me know, if I'm available I'd be happy to meet up and crack a bottle of something special from CCB. Southern Brewing in Tampa is not far from CCB, they are a homebrew shop that also has a nanobrewery, they usually have about 20 or so of their beers on tap and they make some solid brews.

    Cycle often has barrel aged beers on tap that aren't listed on the board. Just ask and you might be in for a surprise.

    Thanks for the heads up. I think I saw the Brass Tap while I was there last year, but didn't go in.

    If I do hit that mall, I'll let you know. May have an extra Heady to 2 with me to share.

    Also don't forget that CCB fills a special growler at noon on Tuesday. Door opens at 11 and they start lining growlers up then, first come first serve and it's usually only one keg and goes very quickly. If you're by chance planning a visit to CCB on Tuesday, plan accordingly.

    Green bench brewery is also worth checking out in the St. Pete area and when your there cycle brewing and 3 daughters is also there.

    As far as bottle shops. Total wine, whole foods, and luekens liquors are the places to go.
