OK News #1 (new forums)

No prob, yeah just getting real deep into crafts (helps when you turn 21 lol) and it sucks when everyone you know is into AB-InDev beers. People seriously think Platinum is a good beer...

Gonna be in the Norman-OKC area, so I'm gonna do my best to see if I can stay in town til Sunday, what with all the Craft Beer Week events going on. Drop a line if you'll be there. I've not decided what cap I'll be wearing, but it'll be an Atlanta sports team (RIP Thrashers).

 

Unfortunately, well not really, but I have a prior engagement on Friday with some Army buddies. Going to see a band we always support here in Lawton. Name's Komatryp if you are into good ol heavy metal.

 

I'm going to have to pass on this BIF man. I'll be in and out all summer long. I doubt I make sausagefest either. I have to finish things up so I can depart for Vegas next week!

 

Doubt I make it to OKC this weekend man. Whenever you have time we'll set something up in Lawton and get together.

I truly mean no offense, but what are you waiting for? Do you really think the OK laws will catch up to other states' very soon? If this is your attitude (above), then why not just move on to another state where the laws are way less restrictive and you can do your thing to your fullest somewhere else? Why wait it out here? Are you actually waiting on legislators and laws to make a decision for you and your family??? There definitely already exist many places where "people actually care about what they do and give a damn about the business and industry they represent," when referencing beer at least. Why stick it out in this beer/alcohol law wasteland? If you're really willing to pick up and move for the sake of the business... GO! There are clearly greener pastures out there for ya!

 

Wouldn't it be better to get the ball rolling where it needs to be rolled, instead of a state where it's already been done? That's exactly what Biergarten has done with the right presence and attitude. Always pushing, keeping us up to date on stuff, bringing in the newest and best products, etc. The laws will change sooner than later, and when they do, Biergarten will already be ahead of the game. I can understand his frustrations in a business like this and the talk of wanting to pick up and move because of the archaic and shitty liquor laws we have right now and the people who are just trying to make it by in the biz. But I don't understand your shitty attitude.

Because if I wait it out here, I am in the FRONT of the line. Why restart somewhere else from the ground up. Liquor business takes years to get established and get going. It's cool bro. Get your degree and bounce out. I know I wont be living here forever, but while I am here I think OK needs to catch up with the rest of the country. At least I have the balls to say what I feel and do what I feel. I understand that you pretty much hate Oklahoma and possibly most of the people on this thread. But thats cool man just get your degree and ADIOS..

 

Also, dude you have nothing to say about the BEER or Liquor industry in Oklahoma. You do NOTHING in the beer or liquor industry in Oklahoma. You have no idea how hard it is to do business here, and be successful with the way the laws are. Until you walk in my shoes and do what I do there really is nothing you can say. Just keep buying your beer and enjoying it, leave the hard stuff to the professionals.

 

I've said nothing about how you do your business.
You know nothing about what I have or have not done in the industry.
