So who's got the scoop? What kind of beer is it? I'd guess some sort of wild but I dunno

I believe its UNO aged in plain oak barrels and dry-hopped with citra and centennial. Or at least that's what pwsoldier told me

Exactly right. I got that info from Holland (asst brewer). I drank one last night and liked it a lot. It kinda reminded me of a Belgian IPA. Lots of depth added from the rye and oak.

    From Ranger Creek's website:
Small Batch Series No. 1 is an Oak-aged Rye OPA. It is a resurrection of UNO, our one-year anniversary beer released on draft in November, 2011. We took our signature Oatmeal Pale Ale, added rye to the grain bill, and aged it in oak barrels for a month. The resulting beer has a soft malt sweetness highlighted with spicy and earthy rye malt, toasted coconut, soft pineapple, apricot, citrus, floral hop flavor and aroma with a dry finish of oak.

Side note, I'd recommend peeling off the wax completely before pouring. I don't know what kind of wax they use, but it reeks to high heaven and I didn't want it touching my beer.

I will pick up a bottle to support them if I see it around but not too excited about this. Had UNO and it was ok and nothing special. If this opens them up to release more interesting barrel aged beers I am for it.

Was it supposed to be Bretted? I picked up a few and will let it age for a while but I tasted a little Brett in the bottle I had.

Had it last night and did in fact remove all the wax before opening. Decanted carefully according to bottle instructions. I detected a slight sourness in the first smell of the glass. Very much Farmhouse style ale.
