You could pick any HF DIPA and they would all give Heady and Double Sunshine a run for their money. To pick a favorite with these beers is just too hard for me,.............I just will have to keep sampling them.

Heady Topper is 28 days grain to can, then directly to stores.

Thanks for the update. I was confused that they would can the beer and have it sit for 28 days.

Dug the rest of your post, not quoted, but this just isn't so unless you want to pick out the romantic/modern in Bach and the baroque in Mozart. More fair is Mozart and Beethoven.

That said, the quality of fine music, as well as the quality of fine beer we are privileged to enjoy, reflects a basic understanding of beauty that defies the picking of which is best. Yet we enjoy to do it, that part of our natures enjoys the discourse trying to choose a music/beer hero provokes.

They all are best on a certain day, all fine music, all fine beer, their delicious enjoyment a sensuous thrill that makes life more enjoyable.

Except for this Seeking Alpha I am drinking now. This beer will never be best on any day, ever.

i guess commensurability in music (like everywhere else) is up for debate, but i guess i'm just being more outright opinionated(:. i could listen to mozart or bach nonstop for weeks, but beethoven i can only occasionally tolerate. i'm turning into kind of a snob, it's awful... beethoven i think is more comparable to ravel. lots of high highs, lots of very pleasant stuff, but also a lot of overwrought stuff that makes you want to listen to something else. then again, i *have* listened to ravel nonstop for weeks, so take this all with a grain of salt.

more interesting is the harsh review of seeking alpha :slight_frown:. i have a 4pk (to be split) of that waiting for me in CT (along with the new sierra nevada and otter creek fresh slice). so it's a disappointment?

It is not one of Mr. Vacarro's triumphs is as diplomatic as this major fan of Captain Lawrence can be about this. YMMV.

I haven't tried DS, so sorry for adding my two cents, but living in the best hopville area around (SF Bay area) I would need to say: Abner > Pliny > Heady !

    Abner>Heady>DS

I thought Abner was the easiest to drink, while Heady brought the hops, and DS was smooth without the hop wow the other two brought.

I liked Ouroboros the best. I wish they would make more of that.

Blind Pig might be the best single IPA available. I miss Philly for the simple fact that I could almost always get it on draft at Monks.

I totally agree. I think Second Fiddle and some of the other Fiddlehead double IPAs should be in this discussion as well.

Ghandi Bot is an amazing IIPA that hardly ever gets the buzz and following like the other beers listed. In fact I might put New England Brewing up there as a Top 5 IPA brewery in the country. Everything is top notch!

Had double sunshine for the first time last weekend. I wasn't impressed. Was nothing special for me.

I just had Gandhi Bot and it was very good. I also remember liking Sea Hag, and I never hear shit about that beer. You may be on to something

They make a few single hopped IPAs that are draft only. They are easily Top 10 IPAs in the world. They really are a hidden gem in CT.
