I think the only way we're going to start seeing more releases on the shelves in a timely fashion is if people in our state start buying more craft beer. I don't mean you and me or anyone else that loves craft beer, I mean the general Florida beer drinking public. I know several ABC's in our area that are stocking craft just aren't seeing the turnover in sales that they'd like. Part of the problem is that they aren't rotating out old stock (ex: finding dust covered 2011 Oak Aged Yeti on the shelves, sadly a soy sauce drain pour) and the other problem is not enough people in our area purchase and drink craft beer.

I really want to see the FL legislature pass a law enabling the bottle shops to hold tastings on site, like they can do for wine and spirits. I'd like to see more festivals and craft beer events in every city in Florida so the public can be exposed to craft beer to a point where they like it and seek it out.

There might be more rapid response from Champion and other distributors on new releases if there were more sales and orders for new beers coming in. I know for certain they held back beers like Lagunitas Sucks because they wanted to see more bottles of Brown Shugga sell first. I think we were the last people in the distribution area to see hopslam.

The distributors might have it in, but they won't deliver until at least April 1st. So whenever your store gets deliveries from the distro, that's when they'll get it.

Any one know the price of a 4-pack of KBS? My brother sent a bottle last year from Chicago but I couldn't find any in FL.

I saw a keg of Black Note last year at a place called Barrel and Grain in WPB. The keg didn't kick for a couple of weeks! They also had a keg of hopslam at the same time and it kicked in a few days. I think I read that they closed a month ago though.

I'd imagine it stuck around due to the price. These are the guys who were charging 50 bucks for a bottle of zhukov. They are out of business now though, good riddance.

KBS was $19.99 at founders. Who knows locally.

My friend in GR told me Black Note was $25/4 pack

Yeah. I went during happy hour and they gave me half price on the drafts.

    Thanks for the price check.

It might just be me being selfish, but we do not need anymore craft beer drinkers. As it is, Black Note and KBS will probably disappear as soon as it comes through the door at most places. What the distributors need to start getting better at is gauging the the demand for most beers. Like maybe they should have someone that searches beer advocate or other social media to see what people want. The local reps should also know what stores do well with craft beer. I'm sure there's certain parts of town that like craft beer more than others. Give the good stuff to those guys.

I'm on the edge about this. Huna day would have been way better without a fuckload of people there, but it was still a good time.

Funky Buddha Anniversary Parties get way too crowded at the lounge, but I always have a good time regardless.
Even better since I became an imperial snifter member and got in early.

The oakland park location gets way too busy though, and I don't have a good time, no love from the bartenders like at the lounge. Understandable, I don't go enough to be a regular so why should they treat me like one? But the number of people that go there just turns me off.

They handled the MBCP release well, but god damn if there werent way too many people around.

But you know, these people are funding an industry I enjoy, so I realize it's necessary. Luckily the lounge on most days isn't crowded and I can enjoy some peace and quiet with great beer.

I just hate crowds really, hell, when I go to Pollo Tropical at lunch and see a line of 8 cars barely fitting in the parking lot I think to myself: "Fuck every single one of you fucking fucks for being at my lunch spot."

That's a pretty childish reaction, but it's one that is deeply embedded and requires a conscience effort to eliminate for whatever reason. In reality it's probably adding what, 10 - 15 minutes of wait time? Definitely not enough to warrant a torrent of curses upon strangers, but damned if I don't feel it deep in my gut.

I was told a couple days ago by a Brown Rep that it was going to be 24.99 a 4 pack and if they sell only singles it would be $7 per. KBS is already here for release on normail delivery days next week.

My buddy is a beer mgr at an ABC. They usually have no clue what is comming in for special releases. They see it on the order list, they order it and hope it comes in. It is up to the distributer to allocate it. Hell he says he always orders at least one of every CCB on the list. Bottle, Can or Keg and basically gets what they decide to send him.

For BCBS they knew they were getting some but not how much. For this he knows he will get at least a case of KBS but not sure on Black Note.

I would assume the TW is the same.

I'm really just curious about how much black note will be showing up here, and how impossible will it be to get ahold of...

We should make a co-op, buy it all and split it. Why compete with ourselves???

KBS will be hitting the Shelves all week next week. Most small stores that sell a good amount of Founders will get 1cs, larger stores that sell mass amounts will get 2 or more, I heard TW on Dale Mabry will get around 10cs? As for Bells BN, out of the top 10 stores in FL maybe 4 will get it. Bells bases how much to send based on the amount of core brands sold in FL.

There are way too many other great beers around to bother with chasing KBS.

Black Note, maybe. But it's still probably not worth it.

Talked to someone at ABC yesterday who confirmed KBS will be coming next week. Also said to expect a 1-2 bottles per person limit and not all stores will be getting it.
