Talked to a Bells rep today.
Told me that Blacknote should hit distro in MI within a week or two.
It will hit unannounced just like it has so far.

Yes it is. I think they pissed off enough people last year with the 750s followed by the 12s.

I agree completely with that order except bbpt5 still comes first.

Guy at the store said he didn't know until he woke up and had an email that they had it.

It was at more than a couple random stores in Minneapolis. Almost all stores in the Twin Cities Metro got it this week. Could have been an accident, could have just been luck. That said, I personally don't know of any store that got more than a case of it, so quantities were limited.

Buddy in Kzoo said ~300 cases were sold at the General Store yesterday FWIW

They have only been a brewery since 1985. There was no general store the first time I went to Bells around 89 or 90, you bought cases over a counter in the brewery on Saturday, often from Larry. They have had the homebrew shop off and on over the years. The General Store used to be in the old warehouse in back by the railroad tracks circa 2000. Just saying that is has changed over time.

Everything I've tried from Bells I've enjoyed. The porter is outstanding. I really want to try Black Note. Too bad they don't distribute in Ohio. I may have to drive to Arizona!!!

As others have mentioned, I have no clue why MN got their allotment already, but we did. We get a very limited amount forcing just about every shop to have a 1btl limit.

Hey MN, enjoy it this year because your distributor pretty much ensured that you won't be getting it next.

I asked the guy at the general store yesterday and he gave me the impression that the MN releases were kinda by mistake and to make up for it in MICHIGAN...Bells decided to do the general store sales a bit early. He said he did not even know about it until yesterday morning. It was not overly busy there. a steady stream of a few people in the store at a time. no line. one case limit......we had to try it last night, super yummy.

I've heard the same thing from a friend in the biz. That Minnesota distributor is in deep doo-doo.

Mn beer advocates pay the price for the distributors mistakes. We already get screwed on bcbs releases. Hopefully this doesn't screw things up further for us

So we should thank the Minnesota distributor!

I figured Larry possibly made the call based on the GR KBS release yesterday. Having 500 cases on pallets ready to go isn't just some knee jerk reaction based on a fluke MN release a couple days prior.

So then Larry, Mike and Dave laugh all the way to the bank while watching the madness ensue.

I'm not running around from store to store. I got one lonely bottle from my regular shop. I hope they do take care of you guys in MI, as that'll be my best chance at getting more.
