Anyone know if there are any new craft offerings at OPACY this year? Didn't find anything via google.

I'll be coming out from Chicago this weekend....anything going on beer-wise? Any recent releases?

I'd like to make it up to Brewer's Art this trip. Any other recommendations/news I may have missed appreciated.

Coming from Chicago you'll be pleased to know there is a Goose Island stand as soon as you get in the stadium on the right hand side right past Boog's BBQ. Other than that there's plenty of Flying Dog to be had and I believe Dempseys Pub has guest taps (prob some Full Tilt). Your best bet is to pregame at AleWife or Pratt Street Alehouse and fill up on good beer there!

Was there last year for a few games, and there was a bar on (if I remember right) the lower level third baseline that had some stuff - flying dog, heavy seas. And I'll second the Alewife suggestion. It's like 5-6 blocks from the ballpark and wasn't too crowded when I was there. But that'll probably be much different on opening day. Enjoy! Go Jays!

In the stadium there is a small brewpub (Dempseys) with a typically fresh, respectable IPA located on Eutaw St in the Warehouse, as well as multiple Flying Dog stands throughout, but the best overall selection is the Free State Pub (includes a couple dozen or so craft bottles from DFH, Heavy Seas, and Flying Dog etc. as well as 4 semi-rotating taps), it's on the first level just to the 3B side of home plate I believe.

For pregame, Alesmith and Pratt Street Alehouse both mentioned above are the best choices choices for good beer/food, but if you wanted more of the Camden Yards experience hit up Pickles right next to the stadium. They'll have a huge party on the street where they're schilling the 2 for $5 BMC stuff, but you can go inside and get a reasonable selection of local craft beers (they'll at least have Loose Cannon or Duckpin and some other stuff). Definitely not up there for beer selection, but it's the most fun.

I'll be at Max's, only a short cab or car ride to Camden Yards, could even walk it although it's a little over a mile. One of the best if not the best beer selections on the east coast. Also Monday is all day happy hour at Max's. Always a good time.

This might be too much information, but check the water taxi as well if you're over in Fells Point before the game. They typically run a special schedule on game days, and given the crowds and traffic on opening day, using the water taxi is often your best bet.

Also, while stopping by Max's is always a good recommendation, just be aware that Tuesday is beer delivery day, and that after the weekend, it's not unusual to see 20 or more blown tap handles. One of the reasons why I VERY rarely stop by (or used to stop by) on Mondays. :-)

Proud to announce that Camden Yards will have Baltimore's own Union Craft Duckpin and Blackwing in the stadium on Opening Day! Duckpin is on tap in the Free State Pub on the lower level along with Blackwing cans and Duckpin cans will be available at Dempsey's. See some of you on Monday!

I was planning on going until I found out no single game tickets available and people want $200+ for good seats on Stub Hub. Do they still have the no scalp zone there?

I can't remember if it was Pickles or Sliders but one of them had $4 16oz SN Torpedo cans at their outside beer stalls at the few games I went to last year.

No. Unfortuantely, I think they discontinued the no scalp zone at least 5 years ago (maybe longer than that).

Just a thought to throw out there... Considering that as recently as 5 years ago camden yards was nearly a complete craft beer waste land (stuff like backfin ale, clipper city gold and amish 4 grain were as good as you could hope for), it's nothing short of amazing how far things have come in just a few short years. I did a complete double take when I saw the comment about a Heavy Seas firkin at the stadium on Monday.

Kudos to the current ownership at Camden Yards for turning things around, and now making the yard one of the better venues for craft beer in the country. The improvements they've made in such a short time are nothing short of amazing.

Scalpers are still all over the place. My buddy just picked up two in the 80's for 100 each on craigslist. There are still a ton of tickets out there to be found.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Seems like we were ready for the first but have been major slackers for this one.
