We will be driving from Minnesota through Denver on our way to Telluride, and was wondering where the hot stores that have a good American craft selection with some of the rarities. Looking to stock up to bring back to Minnesota.

    Thanks!

I really like Total Beverage in Westminster, www.totalbev.com. You can search inventory online to see if they have what you're looking for.

By definition of 'rare' it usually means it won't be sitting on the shelf at the local bottle shop.

"Can I buy White Whales at 7-11?! Why not!!!"

Posting in the right forum may also help. Your best bet is to see if any breweries are doing any releases the time you're in town.

Lukas in Park Meadows area is a slam dunk. You can see an entire history of their shelf releases (including cellared rarities and upcoming releases), updated every Thursday by MYJELLOMISFIT at coloradobeernews.blogspot.com.

AppleJack's is also a good bet for no-limit 'walk-in whaling' and I bet you'll be driving by it on I-70 if you dip into the mountains. Other stores might have a few more things, but at most of those stores you've got to know what to ask for.
