Anyone get more than they need? (Is that possible?) Trying to score a couple for friends... I was able to get two for myself.. not trying to be overly gluttonous.

To anyone who is listening or reading this... I'm drinking a bottle of BB6 that I bought at a liquor store in Denver...

I'm going to change my opinion on this matter... For anyone who doesn't know, I'm in Denver... and St. Arnold's has recently (6 months ago-ish) expanded to Colorado...

Over the last 3 weeks, I've been able to purchase 10 bottles of BB6 (at LIQUOR STORES!!!) here in the Denver area for $5 per bottle... As a Houston transplant and a HUGE St. Arnolds fan and as happy as I am to have this opportunity, I've now come to the realization that this is total bullshit...

It's absolutely ridiculous that they are "ONLY" distributing this beer to "bars & restaurants" in Texas (who will then proceed to MARK-UP THE COST) to anywhere from $8 to $15 per bottle... and then they're shipping it up here to CO to liquor stores to get there brand name out...

It's just silly... let the BB series of products go to liquor stores in TX... Don't make your most hardcore fans follow twitter feeds and other crazy shit only to find out A) there's no more BB left when they get there... or B) the bar that you're at won't let you take any bottles to-go.... THESE BEERS ARE MEANT TO BE AGED!!! DON'T SELL IT TO BARS WHO WON'T LET YOU TAKE IT TO-GO....

I'm sure this post won't make a difference, but hopefully a few people will see it...

Once again.. I'm SUPER HAPPY that I can get these bottles here at these prices... and I LOVE PUMPKINATOR AND I LOVE BB6... IT IS SO FREAKING GOOD...

But Brock, Aaron... anyone who is listening, you are doing a serious injustice to your Texas customers in your release of this product.

And hopefully this doesn't mean we won't be getting future BB release here in CO. because I've loved all of them so far. 1-6.

I LOVE YOUR BEER... but fix this mess. Please...

    Mike

I have a friend in New Orleans who sent me a picture of him getting some BB6. Amazing how I had to drive all over town in hopes of getting one bottle while they send it to places outside of their market to sit on a shelf.

Trust me... it doesn't sit on shelves here at all....it sells quickly... but I'm just objecting to the fact that I can get it more readily and at a more reasonable cost here in CO... only so because I am a longtime Texan and a loyal SA drinker...

You're not the first person to make this suggestion. Ideally, these would be releases at the brewery so people could take them home, but Texas law won't allow that. We'd love for everyone to have a chance to buy it at local bottle shops/liquor stores, etc. but it's just not feasible to supply retail outlets with how small the production is for the Bishop's Barrel series. If we were to supply bars/restaurants AND liquor stores/grocery stores, it would be much harder to find, and we wouldn't be able to supply all retail outlets as well. It's a young series and we're just starting the barrel program. It will get bigger and we hope we can spread the love.

So, why can Karbach get their barrel-aged bombers on shelves and at bars and SA can't? I mean, both barrel programs are about the same age...and SA has been around ten times longer than Karbach....it doesn't make sense to me

I gotta say I'm not too upset with SA sending beer to new markets however they choose to do so. Good for them, whatever. I'm also not upset at bars/restaurants making a profit on these bottles. I would like these bars/restaurants to stay in business, so good for them.

I will say that there's one thing that peeves me though: the price of BB at the taproom. If the lowest a bar can sell the bottle is $8, then it's fine that Saint Arnold charges $8 for a bottle. But if the same bottle is available anywhere in the world (Colorado, for example) for $5, then it bothers me that at the taproom, a place where, in theory, every BB should be released as Aaron suggested, it's not that low.

Again, I don't begrudge SA their desire to make money, they are a business and a business that I hope stays around (and therefore needs profits). But it still kinda rubs me the wrong way.

I love that people here make assumptions and tell businesses how they should operate based on small bits of information.

I can't speak for Karbach, but I believe their F.U.N. series doesn't see much distribution outside Houston. We distribute BB all over Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and Colorado.

Well the most important thing is to keep making this BB series. I think these are the best series of beers you guys have ever made at St. Arnold. Hopefully you can make this better for everyone in TX in the future. I will continue to support you in Denver. And sorry for the rant. Cheers.

Was told BB7 base beer is the Christmas ale. Furthermore, they are doing 3 BB this year and and a RIS is one. The first batch of DR 14 was scrapped and put in tequila barrels for possible BB.

I thought the BB7 base was the Old Ale used for BB2?

According to Alex (from Saint Arnold), it is the Christmas ale and will be released in May
