The Natick/Framingham tasting group had their 2nd event this evening and it was, frankly, classic.

A great group of folks. An awesome selection of beer. If you are ever interested, let us know. All BA's are welcome.

This group is clearly going to continue having events over the coming months.

    Cheers to all

Indeed. Great, great, great fun. Ribs... bah. First batch of the season, and it showed. Thank god for the food others brought (Jim's slaw... wow) and my backup plans.

The beers... wow. And, obviously, there are some IPAs that just defy explanation, and are impossible not to love.

Makes me wish I wasn't laid up and off the sauce until we could figure out WTF my body was doing. Ah well. I've still got my Daleks.

If you don't mind me asking...what did you all drink? I'm somewhat interested in tasting groups but I'm not familiar with the expectations of everyone. Is everyone expected to only bring beers that are rare/limited?

Nah... For me it is all about bringing some beers and sharing. Shooting the shit with some like minded people. It definately doesn't need to be whale meat just good stuff that you think peeps might like to try. Maybe something not off the local shelves?

On occation I have attended a ticker/whale tasting but it doesn't seem like that would be what this crowd would be all about. Good people good food good beer. The more the merrier....

Right on. Seems chill and honest, with a nice mix of stuff. I'd eventually like to join in on a group. Things are little crazy right now (trying to sell and buy a house) but once I'm settled I'd probably like to join, and the Framingham area isn't far. Just had no idea what the protocol was like for these types of gatherings.

I wouldn't be opposed to a more rare (whale/ticker) tasting group if anyone is interested though!

There really wasn't any order. Everyone brought beer and put it in a cooler. Beers were randomly pulled based on what people wanted to try. Pretty laid back.

Hmmm,I may have to hit the forums a bit more aggressively to get some stuff but I'd be down!

Don't think there would be any problem with rarez and whales and such- but I would think we would want to stay away from some kind of "requirement" in terms of bringing ultra rare stuff. Seems that would make it more about the beers and ticks than about the people and the fun.

And so far, at each one we've done, there have been plenty of interesting and worthwhile beers, super-rare or no.

Looking at that other thread in this forum, with the "scheduled" imperial stout tasting, that someone is having a "contest" for inviting some random person... if this group gets like that... meh.

    Just my thoughts.

Not that I wouldn't want to try a couple of the beers on that other list, but none of that is what I'd consider super rare. Just looks like someone went to DL day and a dude that owns a shop has been collecting bcbs variants. I'm sure those guys will have fun, but that's not really the style of the group we've got going.

I agree 100%... No beer requirements with this crowd.

jbertsch and any other Ba's are welcome.
2 things are a guarantee if it's anything like the last event.

    1) Great beer
    2) Hysterical laughter

The spirit of BA (to me) is sharing great beers, great times and learning/respecting one another. To me, this group is developing in that mode.

How many days until Jun 16th....?
