Been on a lager binge lately (mainly because Jack's Abby just hit New York about 5 months ago) so I'm definitely looking forward to this.

But yeah...I work for a beer store and we're getting in summer seasonals now and although I "understand" why they push these out so soon, it still irks the shit out of me. SN even pokes fun at it in this video!

I'll have to try this one again. I remember having it a couple of years ago, and I thought it was pretty good. I haven't had it since then.

I don't think it tastes or looks anything like an IPL and is pretty spot on for a Pilsner so I don't see this ever happening; and for the record, I am happy about that...this beer is damn near perfect to me so I want SN to just leave it alone.

I just gotta ask: how does a beer with 28 IBUs constitute an IPL?

    “Alcohol Content 5.0% by volume
    Beginning gravity 12.2° plato
    Ending Gravity 2.8° plato
    Bitterness Units 28
    Yeast Lager yeast
    Bittering Hops Perle
    Finishing Hops Saaz, Spalter Select
    Malts Two-row Pale, Pilsner, Munich”

    Cheers!

Hope I see this in cans. Last year I picked up on an "apple jacks" taste. Curious if I'll still get that. Very tasty beer

I'll definitely grab a 12-pack of cans in May. For the price point and taste, I preferred this last summer over Avery Joe's Pils, Mama's Lil Yella Pils, Blue Paddle, and even though I like Prima Pils more, this is more drinkable/sessionable and cheaper.

Bill, obviously you've already thought of these ideas and flushed them as they probably don't make any sense, but I just want you to know that if you released Summerfest in any of the following formats, I would but all of them.

    1.) Mini-kegs
    2.) 6 packs of 16 oz cans.
    3.) 30 packs of 12 oz. cans.

Again, I know none of this will happen, but a man can dream. Summerfest is my go to from the time it hits the shelves until the time it is gone. I absolutely love this beer and can't wait to get some. Thanks for making such a kick ass brew!

I miss Glissade, such a great brew. I wish I was able to try that one on draft before it got cut out of the lineup.

Is both the SN porter and stout year-round? Both are very solid IMO. Just wondering.

Yes. Pale Ale, Torpedo, Porter, Kellerweis, Stout, and Old Chico brand -- but the last only in California, maybe even only Northern California.

I'll never get why seasonal releases need to be released prior to the actual season, this beer should be appearing in stores in June....not April

I always look forward to this one. I usually start seeing it in my neck of the woods by now but it's MIA so far.

I get that different regions of the country dont have 4 traditional seasons like the northeast does....but when you release beers based on 4 seasonal "seasons" then you should actually follow those seasons....not just release the beers when places that dont have seasons are ready for summer.

"Summer" is June-August....i dont care if texas and southern california are 80 degress in april

So you seem to feel some date on a calendar should dictate when warm weather beers are available? In my world summer is April-October. If it bothers you that much the answer is simple, don't buy the beer. Meanwhile, I'll be looking forward to a crisp summer weight Sierra Nevada after a long hot day in April. And don't even get me going on about the southern hemisphere...

I'll be buying as much as I can reasonably drink. Must prevent the clean sweep of seasonal IPAs.
