Good Evening BA's, just hit up Bevmo on Arden and Wholefoods and Sucaba was present. At least 10 bottles at each store...just wanted to give a heads up... Cheers!
February 29th at deVere's Irish Pub, they are having a Firestone tap takeover and Sucaba is getting tapped at 7PM, it's the only keg in Sac.
Let me know how the Lagunitas dinner is, tell Justin (rep) to pull something nice out for you. Will hit it at 5 or so. Will be at bar in business khakis, stop by and introduce yourself.
Sucked. Was told kegs would not arrive until after 7. Had to go home and run errands. Remember there was a reason I don't like De Vere's
Same thing happened to me. I got there at like 5:30, asked about the Firestone event, and was told they weren't tapping the beers till 7 when Mr Walker was due to arrive. Don't know whose fault it was that I didn't know this--was that info on the website somewhere and I just didn't see it? But I have to say it's been difficult to figure out exactly what's going in a lot of these events this year. Anyway, I was with my wife, so we just stayed and ate dinner. When I ordered, they said they only had their regular tap selection till 7, so I got a Paulaner. Halfway through the meal, the waitress said they had two other FW beers, the porter and Double Jack, so I switched over to the porter (served much too cold, in a tulip, but excellent once it warned up). Eventually, it got to be 7 and they tapped the Sucaba, which was amazing. David Walker was there, and I was thinking I would get up at some point and say hello, but he eventually came over to our table, introduced himself, and we had a nice chat. Nice of him to go out of his way to meet people, and I enjoyed having a chance to talk about their beers. So all's well that ends well.
Good to hear you stayed and enjoyed yourself! Ended up at Kilts on Arden for Triple Voodoo. Very impressed with the Tripel and Grand Cru (Strong Golden). Very similar beers, but the Grand Cru had more strength and a little more fruitiness on it.
