KBS and/or Black Note In Florida

serious question, what do you recommend that I can relatively easily find in FL that gives Black Note a run for its money? I've yet to have KBS fresh, so I am chasing it for that aspect, but I really like black note...

 

BA stouts in bottles are kind of hard to find down here. BA Rasputin hasn't even hit distro here this year AFAIK, BCBS was gone immediately, BA Boris from hoppin' frog is probably the easiest to find, it's solid but not as nice as BCBS. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel don't even bother with, well it's ok but Boris is better.

Or you can go tap hunting, if your up north Peg's had some batch 900 recently that was solid as hell, and down south Funky Buddha Lounge recently had a BA stout that was awesome.

I can't think of any others, maybe someone else knows more BA stouts.

Anderson Valley Bourbon Barrel Stout is easy to get, it's not bad. I've found if you mix it with a Storm King half and half you get a really awesome beer.

And Clown Shoes Porcine Unidragon is another one, though I like the normal Blaecorn Unidragon better.

 

Brown is getting an extremely limited amount of KBS, only expect their best Founders accounts to get some and those accounts to only get a case each.

I am up for a co-op! I am way more interested in trying a bottle than hoarding a case of most beers.

 

just talked to a very knowledgeable guy at an ABC in st pete. he said the stores that are getting KBS will only be getting one case, and they are doing a 1-2 bottle limit @ $6.50 a bottle. he didn't know if they were getting black note, but said he would call me once he found out.

 

Talked with the Brown Distributor down here today at TW he also said one case of KBS per store and that they will be selling them with a one bottle per person limit.

 

tough sleddin' at one bottle per. i'm glad my kid is going to michigan state still.

 

Bird Road Liquors got a case and then sold out before I could get any. If anyone in Miami knows where there might be more, let me know...

Every Total Wine and ABC I've called has no idea what I'm talking about and says "We usually don't know when we are getting it until we get it." Anyone have a clue as to what stores will be getting some in Orlando?

 

Just trade for it...it's much easier without driving all around. I got 2 4pks of Black Note for 2sets of the 5B5Y Gose and Berliner.

I'll be ok having 1 bottle of KBS when it releases. It's not nearly as good as Black Note

 

For us down South it was just as hard to get those two bottles. The Gose never even made it south AFAIK, I didn't even know there was a Berliner.
Besides the hunt is part of the fun. I haven't found anything yet though.

 

As of yesterday, TW in Stuart had 2 bottles left of the Gose. Just in case you wanted to travel AND pay $16/bottle for it.

Well...okay I would, but I'd have to have at least 3 bottles secured lol.

 

Yeah lots of stores down here had the Gose and Berliner if you got there quick enough.
