It depends on when you arrive. If you get there when it opens, around 5, it's pretty empty and quiet, but around 6:30 it starts filling up and can get a bit loud. If you get one of the tables towards the front, though, you should be fine.

was there last saturday got there a little after opening and was pretty crowded already, although we didnt have to wait for a table. the food was really good.

the beer was good too. i had:
    Right Proper Häxan

Named after the silent era Scandinavian documentary on witchcraft, Häxan is brewed with an assortment of roasted malts and oats. Full bodied with round notes of coffee and dark chocolate.
    Right Proper Raised By Wolves

Our medium-bodied, aromatic, dry-hopped pale ale is loaded with lush and tropical hop character. Not quite an IPA, but more pungent than a typical pale ale. Juicy with aromas of citrus and stone fruit.
    Right Proper Wild Wolves

Pale ale with brettanomyces. Our aromatic pale ale Raised By Wolves fermented with multiple strains of brettanomyces.

    and tasted:
The Bees Made Honey in the Lion's Skull
Our bière de miel features two kinds of honey and is fermented with a blend of saison strains in our open fermenter. The perfect spring beer to help us welcome back the bees and the flowers.
    Right Proper Lookaftering

Our Bière de Garde is inspired by the French farmhouse tradition of brewing strong provisional beers. Amber hued with a balance of ripe fruit and yeast-derived spice.

Ask for their specials/secret menu and see if they have their catfish and oyster po'boy. Their "Chick-fil-A" sandwich is also quite tasty.

for food on my trip we (split between two of us) had catfish bites, ham biscuits, braised kale, and hoppin john. all were good the hoppin john was my favorite.

it seemed a lot of people around me were getting the burger or french dip. both looked good, but i didnt have them

Think I'm going to stop by next Friday right when they open at 5 for the first time. Do they do smaller 4 oz. pours of their beers, or just full pours? I also see one of the beers (The Duke) is listed as being bottled on BeerMenus vs. the other 5 being listed as a draft. I assume they are not bottling beers yet and this is a mistake, right?

Could have just emailed me, Red. No bottles yet (growlers though). They'll do samples for you, most of their pours at 10-16oz. I plan on swinging by next Thursday and pulling a few growlers for when I see you Saturday.

Unfortunately no 4 oz. pours, though it's fine since most of their beers are very low ABV. And yeah, that has to be a misprint, they're not bottling anything.

The batch of Range Life with Mosaic they have on tap right now is a perfect session beer. Juicier and more flavorful than Raised By Wolves (which I also really like).

Definitely the most consistent brewery in DC right now.

I had the Range Life with Mosaic last night and LOVED it. Fantastic beer. Maybe the 2nd best hoppy beer they've done after Under Your Weather, which was just stellar. I really hope they brew the latter again, as it seemed to come and go quicker than most of their beers.

Great time here last night with the wife and 4 month old. No wait at 6:30pm and tables were open until we left. Surprised how big it was.

Raised by Wolves was the star for me, love that citra smell. Songlines (farmhouse with brett) was good/interesting as well as Range.

Food was awesome as well. Pork rinds (tasty), blueberry jalapeno corn muffins (awesome)...wife got the lamb french dip and it was mouthwatering and I got the Chick-filet sandwich and that was great as well.

Definitely coming back. Low abv beers as well so makes it easier.

A buddy and I are planning on heading down for lunch next weekend for the first time, and I am looking forward to trying their stuff. I had a couple questions.

Will they fill growlers other than their own? 32oz and/or 64oz growlers?

Also, just out of curiosity, I see they have branded pint glasses on their website, but do they have any other type of branded glasses for sale?

I called the other day and they told me they will fill other growlers, both 32 and 64 oz.

I had lunch there today with the family. This is my new favorite bar. Had the Ornette (abv in the 3s, I think) and the one brewed with OldSock. The first was very good but the second was tremendous.

Edit. I think the second was Songlines.

Stopped by on Friday right at opening after a quick trip to BlueJacket. Cool spot, everyone I encountered working there was helpful and nice, and most importantly, I thought the beers were great. I got to try the Range Life with Mosaic hops, the Kodachrome Dreaming, and the Raised by Wolves, and thought all three were fantastic. Also grabbed a growler of Ornette which we opened Saturday afternoon and thought it was a great session saison.

Did not eat there but I came away really impressed with their beers; I think I liked all four of those beers more than anything I've had at BlueJacket so far in four visits (though they've made 3-4 beers I have also enjoyed). I will certainly be coming back.

I just wanted to point everyone's attention to a couple of excellent newer beers that RP currently has on tap. Songlines, a hoppy saison, may very well be the best beer I've had from them yet (it's at least a contender alongside Under Your Weather and Biere de Mars). Invisible City is also quite excellent, super drinkable with a big-time brett component. I believe both beers use lacto, and one of the bartenders told me that there are plans to put some of the next batch of Songlines into some barrels. If that beer were to sour, I think it could be amazing.
