KBS 2014 tapping event threads (Mid-Atlantic)

For Pittsburgh folks, I believe The House will be getting a keg. I heard one of the workers talking about it.

 

RFD in DC had it last year just sitting around on tap on a Saturday morning. No crowds, no tickets, just a bar.

Last year they had it on tap at BRGR in Cranberry for a week! Better believe I was there every freaking day!

 

Churchkey will have KBS at opening (4pm) tomorrow. Went last year and it was a suprisingly small crowd with a lot Nats fans coming in post opening day game.

 

For NJ KBS hunters, once you're done chasing those Hunterdon trucks around the state tomorrow, Mohawk House in Sparta is tapping it at 6 pm.

 

Their facebook post said this year's KBS will be even more rare than previous years'. Besides the intense grinding of my gears at them promoting the rarity of a beer they're tapping, I thought there was supposed to be more KBS this year than previous years?

 

"I don't think they are making the KBS right now, we have the regular breakfast stout."

Remember Founders has expanded its distribution, so while there may be more KBS, it is spread a lot thinner.

 

I've been planning to head there tonight. Looks like they're having a big event with a bunch of founders, carton, and kane brews. Think it's going to be a complete mad house?

 

WIll be hitting this up tonight and am looking forward to it. Based on this i would expect bottles to hit Norms on Friday. Anybody interested in cracking open some bottles in the parking lot while we wait for the delivery let me know.

 

Cafe Nadery in Manhattan is set to tap on friday. We got a 20L keg. Don't know any other details yet.

 

I hope not, but I'm planning on getting up there around 430.

 

One more bar seat available at Fireworks... I'm probably getting there around 330/345.

Will see about Friday. I might be down for getting a burger at the place next door around the time they get deliveries, but I'm not going to sit in the parking lot and wait... hopefully will get my fill of KBS tonight.

 

You think Fireworks is going to be packed? I plan on arriving probably right around 5...

 

No clue man, no clue at all. There's 16 "going" on their FB event page. I went there a few hours after they posted they had BCBW on tap a few Sunday's ago and didn't seem like anyone else was there for it, so it may not be at all. Anyways, say hi when you're there. I'll begrudgingly be wearing a NY Mets hat or shirt.

If it's 10oz pours, it would be about 60+ pours. If he does small pours (4-5oz) it would be twice that. I'll talk to the owner tonight and plan it out. I'd love to do small pours and stretch the keg out over a longer period. The bar isn't super popular for beer (though we usually have a good taplist), so I assume either way you could have a much easier time of things.
