    I think you don't need Costco membership to purchase alcohol/tobacco...but I may be wrong on this one

    Yeah also medicine and cigarettes. Its against state law to charge a membership to buy those things.

    This is untrue. The law only covers alcohol and medicine. Cigarettes and eyeglasses and the like are not covered.

    Yup. I checked it too. None in Inland Empire, but it looks like for ex Huntington Beach has plenty (48 or something)
